Nervous about GA
Hello Ladies,
I am having my second BA next Wednesday and I am very nervous about the general anesthesia. I am soooooo scared of not waking up and leaving my family behind. Please help with my fears!

Re: Nervous about GA
This is something I think we're all quite nervous about hunni, the medical staff are really good at putting you at ease though hun, so try not to worry. Take care. xx

Re: Nervous about GA
I think it is the part of the procedure that most of us worry about sweetheart, but, as alfie said, the anaesthetists are extremely well practised at putting you completely at ease.
I actually love the sensation of 'going under', but maybe that is because I suffer from insomnia and never find dropping off to sleep easy. If I could have a GA every night, I'm sure I would be tempted.

Re: Nervous about GA
You'll be absolutely fine. There are rarely any complications with a GA, the only real problems some girls find is that they feel a bit sicky afterwards, however they combat this with meds to help you settle. Oh, and the toilet situation afterwards (have lots of Senokot ready!)
Thousands of GAs take place all over the UK every single day for lots of reasons, the chances of something happening are so low it's not even worth thinking about.

I think the girls may have reassured you already hun, it's completely normal for you be nervous, there would probably be something wrong if you weren't......
You'll be absolutely fine babes, the medical staff treating you know what their doing and I'm sure they'll put you at ease throughout the process. You'll be up and about and surrounded by your lovely family before you know it.....
