Hi,

I am new to this, so appologies if posting in the wrong place.

Booked in for the 23rd of August, think I am going for unders, my surgeon said he will need to leave in drain, can anyone tell me what it is like when you get them taken out, i've read and hear conflicting things.

Any help would be useful

I didn't experience any pain whatsoever from the drains Suz, I followed instructions from the nurse and the drain was out before I knew it!

Some ladies however do suffer some discomfort, but the drains are removed quite quickly so it's only for a short while and then then it's all done.

It's not something I'd spend any time worrying about though sweetness xx

Don't worry about the drains, they are out before you know, and a relief when they are, makes you more mobile. Honestly they are nothing to be concerned about x x x

I'm going to Spire Healthcare, Can't believe how quickly it is coming around.

This website is excellent though, so good to see your not the only one thinking these things.

Hi and welcome !

I had drains for 3 days and they are easy enough to handle and you'll probably be in bed for that time anyway. Getting them out was slightly uncomfortable but over really quickly my PS told me to breathe in through my nose and exhale heavily through my mouth as he removed them and that's as long as it took.

Hey chick,

You will be nervous, it's only natural to feel that way. This website is fab though and the girls are soooo helpful, with lots of experience and knowledge in BA.
All of my queries and questions have been answered with kindness and sensitivity, which is great when you are going through the emotional roller coaster of your BA. Wishing you lots of luck in your journey.xx
