Hi heroes!
Yep I only booked my last week of feb so mines the same sort of time span as you :-)
I'm going with Transform's Mr Khan... Hospital is in middlesex!
I'm really excited! No nerves yet... But I'm sure when my parents are back from Thailand on sunday and I don't have them being near a tsunami to worry about the nerves will hit me! Xxxx

Re: March Buddies!
Hiya,
And welcome to Plinkabob and Heroes!
Good luck for tomorrow Plinkabob.
I'm still feeling fine, no real pain. I think I'll take some pain killers before I get the stitches out tomorrow though.
Elleblondie - when do you think you'll go back to the gym then? I was wondering if I could go back next week and just do legs. I'll ask the PS tomorrow and see what he says.

Hiya pinkabob and Heroes, welcome to the site and to March buddies!
I had my 1 week today. I had the stitches taken out (hardly felt a thing) and now have the dressings taken off and just have some steri-strips over the wounds. I saw the wounds in a mirror and they are really subtle! The nurse was very pleased, I am very pleased, Mr. Chantarasak is really good!!

Re: March Buddies!
Hi Jenz and Heroes!
AHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!
Can't believe it's tomorrow! At least all these freaky dreams will stop, they are stressing me out more than anything! Last night, I dreamt that I woke up and looked in the mirror after my BA and they looked EXACTLY THE SAME! I cried to my surgeon who said he could only fit 200 in and I was now an A cup, ta dah! ARGH! I woke up really, really **naughty word** off and upset, PLEASE don't let this happen to me!
Nearly packed, just a few more bits to go, and then the 'deep clean' of my house will begin once the kids are shipped off tonight.
Leave tomorrow at 8am, as have to be in Bromsgrove for 11am. For those who have gone to THG, how long after do you think I'll be having my surgery? I keep trying to work it out, but I'm guessing he'll be wanting lunch before so around 1? I wouldn't want to be operating with my tummy rumbling! pmsl!
So, whilst you're all tucking into your sammiches at home, think of me being cut, cauterised, stuffed and stitched YUMMY!
On a more serious note, I want to thank all of you girls, especially you Marchies, because even though I've only been posting for a couple of weeks, you have really helped me, more than you could ever know. Altogether now, BIG HUG!

Re: March Buddies!
Those are some pretty odd dreams but don't worry flowergirl everything should be fine! I'm sure you'll have nice big lovely boobies after! I have found most surgeons operate in the morning but it depends what time they asked you to be there?
Good luck though and here's to great new boobies!

Re: March Buddies!
Had my 1 week appointment today. The stitches were removed and it did not hurt. The nurse did comment on that I have a fair bit of discoloration and brusing in the incisions. Mainly my left side.
I now have sterile strips over the incisions. I am feeling a bit more perkier today. The sun is shinning and you can feel spring in the air. Hope eveyone is doing fine.

Re: March Buddies!
Welcome Plinkabob and Heroes !
Plinkbob & Flowergirl good luck for tomorrow - your going to be fine. Its crackers just how quickly it over. One minute your weeing you pants and the next minute your waking up going wha? Its over? They dose you up so well the first day you cant really feel much its just really tight, like wearing a really tight sports bra, then you just fall asleep alot.
cc- so glad you feeling a little better, its the beginning of the rest of your life, enjoy it : )
So for all the pre and post marchies I though I would list my post op symptoms as some are weird and some are normal, but it turns out they all all safe (i went to see GP today) - so here's how i have dealt with them so far...
-1. Tightness in chest, and shallow breathing - was told by anaethestist take 3 very deep breaths once an hour every day. This will help stretch your lungs and skin whilst also reducing any risk of chest infection.
2. Numb nipples and boobs. Leave htem alone for the first couple of days, then gently press them once of twice a day, this helps to stimulate the nerve endlings. My right one has started to feel no but the left has not, this is normal i think and so its a waiting game. Enjoy the numbness.
3. Big, high swelled up round boobies. Cookie has put a grat post on here which was linked for candycain on page 62 is os this thread, check it out - it explains things so well. Essentialy, you need time to allow the swelling to go down and for the implant to 'drop' into the right position and the lower part of your boob to 'fluff' giving it a natural look. Your boobs will also reduce in size a bit once swelling goes down. This will help them look more natural. It takes anything from 14 days to 6 months, but it will happen. My right one has started to go but not the left, so i look like i have lo-sided boobies much to the hilarity of my friends : - 0
4. Inexplicable lumps, bumps, swellings and bruising around areas of the body that are not your breasts. Apparently this is normal and there are many reasons for it. 1 is that in surgery sometime they clamp you to keep you a bit stiller and as result you may bruise even if its not hard. Another reason is that you body can end up with some 'left over blood, saline etc' and it can gather at the lowest point of your body eg: i sit down a lot so tit gathered at my hip. ' Best way to get rid, dirnk lots of water and keep moving about, but it can take up to 6 weeks to go its nomal.
5. Distended belly, swelled body etc. Essentially by day two i looked like i'd swlled a whale. upon measuring my hips had gained 3 inches an my belly 6 - amazing. This is sometimes due to the painkillers, they can create constipation or bloating. Its nothing obscenely huge but you feel like you've just eaten christmas dinner sometimes. From what i hear this is very very common and most likely will start to reduce once your meds stop and/or you eating and toilet habit stabilise. Drink lots of water, eat fibre, fruit etc. If the swelling around your boobs is taking a long time and is uncomfortable then check with your dc is he can prescribe an anti-inflammatory like Meloxicam.
6. Stiff arms/ shoulders. Not really a shocker as we have just had surgery around that area, albeit minor. This can be especially relevant if you have had under the muscle positioning ( i did). Its best to avoid using your arms for a few days as it will be tender, dont wrench, , pull or push stuff. Just take thigns in the hand gently and gauge by gradually building up resistance to things. You advised not to rerutn to work for 2 weeks, which insinuates full mobility is not expected before then. Some people on this site get better so quickly it blows my mind, other take a really long time, its just nature and your own phsyiology. Go with the flow and if after 6 weeks full mobility ha not returned talk to your doctor about some physio exercises he/she can recommend. Also start taking oil of primrose - very good for breast tissue soreness (also works during menstrual cycle - my surgeon told me).
7. Dizzyness / sickness. There are a million and one reasons, from your meds messing wiht you (check with your doctor and he might be able to prescribe Ranitidine, which is a tummy settler). Could alos be rush of blood if you have by sitting or lying down a long time, lack of sugar form not eating enough starch/sugar, not enough pain meds, or just a random attack. The key thing is to stay calm. Sit down, lower your head if you can. Take small sips of luke-warm water and breath in through your nose tot he count of 4 and out through your mouth to the count of 4. then as you calm, sip a cup of tea with a teaspoon of sugar in for re-inforcement, not coffee but can be warm juice if you dont like tea. The key is warm, sugary, non alcholic liquid.
8. Sore stiches. This a given, but from reading other peoples posts I gather sometimes one can fix while the other still hurts for ages. This is normal and as your sutures and/ or dressing will be removed anything from 6 -9 days after, you can get it checked then. YOu really only need to worry if there is seeping or a funny smell, or pus. Essentially if it has the ick-factor go see the hospital if its close if not your GP will do for a check up and will know what to do next.
9. Booby blues. This can start from 2 days onwards, but appears to be most common from day 4. A practical outlook here can be useful as well as feedback form your friends, but my favourite recommendation os to come on here as everyone is waiting to help you and hold you hand and to re-assure you everything will be ok. Personaly, this site has been my saviour.
As you can see, I am not long past surgery but in this short time these are some of the effect i have experienced and weird though they feel apparently its normal. I hope my experiences are helpful to anyone who reads it. My deepest apologies for the typos, my right arm has very little movement still
Love you all most bodelicious march babes!

Recovery time
Hi Everyone,
Thanks EJM for that great post. I've just been for my one week check and have come back feeling a bit deflated. Not literally thank goodness!
I'm really pleased with how my boobs look, not as big as I might have expected, but the same size! Can't tell you how good that makes me feel.
But, I think because I have been so well and relatively pain free, I was expecting to be able to drive now, and start exercising. But when I asked the PS he said absolutely no driving for four weeks. The reason was I could damage the wound and the risk is of the implant turning? How soon did you girls drive? And exercise?
Plus another downer is I thought I would be able to shower properly, but they put fresh dressings on my wounds, so another week yet.
Also a bit sore now the tape is off and I have less support.
My own fault, I've overestimated how quickly I could get back to normal, despite what I was told. Patience was never my thing!

Re: March Buddies!
I am on a bit of a downer today. My bruised boob is still really painful. I have called the nurse and he think I may have a hematoma. the thought of having to have to do anything to correct it is making me feel so panicky. the good thing is that it isn't that swollen which he seems to think might be that its a small one and may just go on its own. I have to go and see Dr Khan on Thursday for him to check it. Just want them to be fine. Keep you posted.
Good luck to alls the girls having their BA's in the next day or two. Dont be put off by my post. I am well unlucky with stuff like this so its no surprise that I have fallen into the 2% of people that get it.
