Ah malibu that's so lovely to read!!!

I'm so lucky my family are so supportive and my boyf is so laid backj and unfased by everything... Bless him!!!

I'm not freaking out at all! I had 1 moment 2 weeks ago where I felt a bit panicky but now I'm really unfazed... (My sis asked me earlier why I'm not nervous with just over a week to go) I guess I just trust my PS judgement!
Can't wait for next week!xxx

Good luck to all the girlies who's BA day is this week xxxx

Hi girls,

Glad to hear you are so happy. I think I will feel better when I no longer look pregnant.
My tummy is soooo big. Put that with these big hard boobs and I feel very unatractive and fat!!!
My boobs feel so strange to touch. They are so hard and rubbery. I have another post op appoint. Tomorrow.
I believe they said they would be taking the stitches out. That seems early though. What is the time frame most people get them out?
The incisions are very sore so I am not looking forward to that. I have never had stitches removed before.

Candy I had mine out at 6 days post op as well. It didn't hurt or anything. The area was slightly tender for a few days after, but nothing too bad.

I also had the swollen belly thing. It was ridiculous for a little while. I'm not quite back to normal yet, but getting there. I think once you're fully off meds and able to move about a bit more you'll lose it really fast. I have no idea what caused it, but in my head I just put it down to excess fluid from being still for too long and the swelling... there's no science in that whatsoever lol.

Serenade - don't rush hun, they aren't all they're cracked up to be! Hysterical

I have it too, it's a little weird but with the extra shelf my boobs create when my tummy goes down I'll be even more super sexy! Haha! Hysterical

Post by candycain 14th March 2011, 3:52 am

Hi girls,
I had a small glimmer of happiness tonight. The swelling is going down a bit and my belly is not as big. I was looking at my incisions tonight and noticed
They look completely different. Is that normal? Almost looks like 2 different people sewed me up. They are vey tender. Not looking forward to having the stitches out tomorrow.
I took some pictures and at some point I will post them. Today was the first day I did not sleep much. I even managed to squeeze myself into a pair of my fat jeans so that I was not in pjs all day.
I still can not reach things and do not have good arm movement yet. How are you girls doing in that department?

hey candycain
i have one really bruised and sore boob and incision and the other one is fine, which sucks because it is stopping me from getting on and doing things like picking up my daughter and driving. Its almost like a burning feeling in the end of the incision but my OH has looked at the scars and says it doesnt look infected or anything so I am guessing we just have to be patient and let them heal.
at least at your post op you can have them looked at and checked incase anything is wrong.

LL - are your incisions completely ok now. i am getting a bit worried because I was the first one and it seems to be taking ages to heal.

Off to get my dressings off today! I'll elt you know how they look.

Shaydey, one of my incisions has caused more problems than the other it was hurting and stuff when the other wasn't so I imagine that could be normal, but if it does burn a lot or weep then I'd see someone!

Candy - really glad you're feeling better huni! I am stills truggling with stuff thats well higher than my shoulders, but I think I'll be ok with driving fairly shortly. I feel much better today than I did even two days ago and my chest muscles seem to have calmed down. I still get morning boob but that's controllable with regular painkillers.

Hey Girls,

Jenz welcome to the thread!!!

I was really happy Candycain to see that you had a glimmer of hope. Things will only go up from here & like I said, you will hopefully have the same feeling I did after seeing my surgeon on my 1 week follow up - I felt soo relieved. I'm not sure why your stitches are what they are but that will be answered today for sure. Piece of mind.

I'm still working on this little extra belly I have developed here. I really wanted to go to the gym but today is my first day back and my husband really doesn't think I should push it. He's a fitness guru so we'll just have to wait yet another day.

Anyway, I'm definitely starting to feel like myself. For a while at the end of last week I didn't know when this was going to happen and I felt very upset about it. Getting ready for work today has been kinda fun seeing the girls all tucked in business like, loooove it.

Okay, you all have a wonderful day! I hope the morning boob doesn't get anyone too crazy today! I must say, mine has let up a bit so that's good! There is hope all!

I'm in at 8am tomorrow morning in Highgate!!! If anyone else is going in tomorrow I shall see you there! I'll be the one looking quite dishevelled at such an ungodly hour. At least I don't have to worry about being hungry :)

I'm sooooooo excited!!!

Thanks Shaydey : )

I think I am most worried about my OH turning over in the night and giving me a big hug and hurting me. His bed isn't massive.

I am going to be staying with him for a week so he can look after me before I go home. He works in the day though so I will be fending for myself before he gets back. Also, his bed is just a mattress on the floor so I imagine getting out of bed is going to be near on impossible. Any tips at all? Does anyone else have a really low bed?

just build yourself a tower of pillows behind you and you should be OK. and then i would go to your knees and then stand up so that you arent using your upper body muscles to get up. i did that in the bath and found it much easier.

Hahaha. This is going to be great. Maybe I'll have a six pack after all the shuffling and crunching. Although I didn't know about the swollen belly thing. How does that work? Is it common? How much swelling are we talking?
