Hope your doing well. Im worried about how i will manage to look after my little one after my op. Are you finding it really difficult?

Hi Lolo,
Well, mine are 3 and 18 months. Obviously I can't lift either of them at all, I've told the 3 year old that I've hurt my back so she's being careful round me. Still managing to get some cuddles by sitting on the floor and letting them climb on my knee. My little boy fell over today though and I couldn't pick him up which was hard. Hubby was nearby and did the needful. I'll have my husband with me this week and next, then my mum is going to pick them up from nursery for me as I can't lift my son into the car. But I'm hoping to manage everything else by then. How old is your one? x

LOL malibu
That's brilliant!!!! Did he answer all of your questions??
Lolo hun, my 2 are 2yrs and 8 months, and I'm 1 week post op. I've just started doing their nappies again and cuddling them (carefully). Managed to pick my daughter up from the floor and put her in a little rocker chair. I still can't hold either of them in my arms though. The first 4 days were very difficult with regards to my children, but it's quickly getting better and I'm feeling stronger every day!

Re: March Buddies!
Lindylou, he did answer all my questions, all with the speed of lightening. That's Dr Khans way, he's like a robot.
I think I was being a bit over the top, I was asking him things like 'can you open my file again and tell me if they've written that I'm allergic to penicillin because I am'. He said that's something I need to tell the anaesthetist and not him. Then after when I saw my file he'd written in huge letters PENICILLIN on the front cover. At least he was listening ha.
I feel for all of you who have young children to care for, it must be double the amount of stress going through all of this.

Re: March Buddies!
I am not sure if this is normal but I feel depressed. My boobs look too big. Wish I had of gone with the smaller ones now.
I am very sore between my breast and it is swelling there now too. Is that normal? I have been sleeping on and off all day. I have a lot of morning boob. Hubby goes to work tomorrow so I will have to fend for myself. Not sure how I am going to undo this bra and refasten it 4 times to wash incision and apply polysporn.
Does anyone else feel this way?

Re: March Buddies!
It's totally normal to feel down, it's called the boobie blues! I had it too but I was the other way round, I wished I was bigger! It's the drugs playing havoc with your body. It's also very normal to have swelling, mine didnt go down till at the very least 4 days i think! and I was sore between my boobs aswell. Once the swelling has gone down and they have settled they probably wont look as big and look nicer than what they do now.
Morning boob was a big problem for me for the first few days aswell just try and have the strongest pain killer you can and I'm sure you'll cope on your own just take things slowly and do it all in your own time, dont push yourself!
I hope you feel better soon hun, the first few days are the worst once you get past this you'll feel alot better xx

Re: March Buddies!
Aww sweetheart .
The boobie blues are very common at around the 3 day mark, guess yours have just arrived a day early
I was fortunate and didn't get them, but a lot of girls who had them say it only lasts for a day generally or two days at worst.
Don't worry too much about how they look at the moment - there will be still quite a lot of swelling and they will still be sitting quite high on your chest making them look unnatural - and they will also be very firm and don't move anything like a normal breast should move, again making them feel even more unnatural.
Once they start to drop and soften a lot more, I promise you will feel completely differently about them and wonder why the heck you ever thought they were too large. Well worth recording all these feelings in your diary, so that when you read it back in a few moths time you will have a good old chuckle about them.

Oh hon, dont worry-like the other girls said. its just boobie blues and you wont be able to see the real result until they settle. Mine are bigger look at bit pointy but i am just assuming they will relax down.

Re: March Buddies!
Hey Girlies!
I love that we have so many new March friends now, this is great! I hope I can keep up with every one!!!
Oh that whole riding the bike bit from Malibu made me laugh so hard! Your doctor must love you! Mine called me silly because the day of my surgery we were in a meeting room just before we go into the theatre & he drew on my nipples where he was making the incision(I had my implants inserted thru here - I'm in North America & this is common). Well he drew where the incision was going on each nipple & I just couldn't resist turning and looking at his drawings in the mirrior. They looked like smiles under each areola. I had never drawn on my boobs so I guess I was curious. That was when he laughed & said "you are a silly girl". He doesn't know the half of it.
Candy - I feel/ felt exactly the same as you. You are right on track. You have the boobie blues for sure which I am just getting past. Actually, I'm just down in general becasue I just want to feel like myself again. Secondly, my sternum (the part between the boobs) is probably THE most sorest part on me. My nurse said this was normal & it was even swollen. I was VERY worried for the first 2 or 3 days about the size. As things adjust tho, I'm soooooooOOOO happy with the size so just be patient. Easier said than done! :console:

Candycain - what day are you on. I had a day like this on day 4. I literally, couldnt get out of bed or do anything. I hope you have woken up today feeling a little better. As for the boobs, I would try not to think about them and judge their size too much. They are so different to where they will end up. I have almost tried not too look too often as I know that i will love them in the end but of course there are bits that i dont like right now. I promise you will feel a little better today. Try and eat lots of healthy good food and drink lots of water.

*gentle avoiding boobie hugs for Candy*
Sorry you're feeling down Candy! I'm sure you'll be happier with things soon, if you're anything like me you'll feel more and more happy and human with every day that goes on.
I had my worst morning boob so far this morning, it woke me up and I was scowling with pain but now I have taken some pills and have been moving around I'm much better now. It's the muscles around my boobs tensing and not relaxcing that hurts me really.
I managed to pop a t-shirt on today and love what I see already, the difference is quite marked. I think 340s was just the right size so Mr Chantarasak was right on there.
I hope the boobie blues don't get me that sounds nasty! *hugs to all*

Doesn't affect everybody Serenade - I managed to escape its evil clutches too I'm glad to say - I was just fed up with all the back pain from sleeping in that inclined position. Didn't have any real boobie pain either - just tightness and soreness which wore off after a few days.I hope the boobie blues don't get me that sounds nasty!

Re: March Buddies!
Thanks Carol, yeah I had a proper bad back yesterday thanks to the inclined sleeping but I think today should be better. I actually went for a 15 minute walk this morning.
My problem really is the inclined sleeping, my arms end up being propped up too which means my chest muscles can't relax and get unhappy over-night. I can't yet sleep on my back though as my wounds get a little unhappy.

Alishajay - I had the numbing cream. It worked well enough. I told the nurse & anesthesiologist I was quite scared & nervous so they knew I wasn't comfortable with needles.
Serenade - I think I know that feeling you are talking about having the muscles around the implant reacting. I have been having this wierd feeling on the side of just one of my boobs but once I read your interpretation of the muscles kinda spazzing around it that must be what it is! It's sooo weird.
Candycain -I hope you are feeling better today. The girls are right, don't start judging things too soon. Everyday they tend to change. MIne felt enormous & swollen but I would say each day that swelling goes down.

Re: March Buddies!
Hi Girls,
Candycain, how are you feeling?
I hope I'm not getting carried away with myself, but I feel pretty good today. I managed to sleep partly on my side last night, no morning booby and not too much pain. I even had a half body shower just now.
Have any of the post op girls been given surgical stockings to wear? I've just taken mine off to wash and wonder whether I need them back on again.
The sorest thing for me today is my throat. The anesthetist said it might be a bit sore from the tube. Strepsils are helping.
Roll on Tuesday to get this itchy surgical tape off!

Re: March Buddies!
Hi girls.
I am still a downer. I hate the size oof my breast. They are too big. Wishing I had of went with the smaller ones.
I really hope they go down in size. My tummy is huge. I look pregnant! I have been drinking prune juice and have taken all natural laxitives. Those pain killers have really messed me up.
This surgical bra they have me wearing is so tight it is driving me nuts too. Oh and my left boob has started a strange bubbly feeling. I am a real complainer right now. I just hate my boobs sticking out so far.
I am glad to hear the rest of you are doing great.

It is quite strange, also I think it's just my sleeping position, during the day it's fine.
Candy I'm sorry to hear you're not so happy, if they are tender and swolen they may well go down a certain amount, do you have a patient coordinator or a contact you can speak to about it?x

Serenade - I made your signature! You actually quoted me! This is fantastic. I have the same feeling I had when I noticed I moved up to addict on this site yesterday!
Auriga, I'm also so glad to hear you are feeling well. I never got the morning boob pain either. Phew! I had the same sore throat & drank a lot of water. It went away after a day I believe.
I like the idea of contacting the surgeon's office, Candycain. You sound really unhappy & maybe someone there can shed some lighton your situation.
