Hannah, I'm an empty 32a/b at the moment. Yes the implants sound big don't they, but I trust my PS and he says they'll suit my frame. They are as wide as my current breast width and full projection. In the early days I was totally freaked out by the numbers, but just gonna go for it - less chance of boob greed afterwards I suppose
Thinking of you Rikki, look forward to hearing from you when you're feeling up to it xx
Hello everyone else How you feeling this week Emma?

Aww, thanks Carrie, I'm fine hun - no, more than fine, I'm over the flamin' moon - I've got boobies LOL.
Just trying to get my head round my accounts and tax returns at the moment, so I'm ploughing through receipts and god knows what trying to make sure everything adds up right - and then somebody posts something much more interesting than accountancy on here ......... and I've just got to go and see what's happening, Shouldn't really, but I just love this place, it is, in a way, far more 'real' than book work.

I know just what you mean Carol, I brought a bit of work home last night - not much, just a bit of proof reading - so easy to do on sofa with feet up. But I was so excited about boodies & posting my diary update & catching up on here that I didn't do it. I had to force myself to to it tonight before I logged on here - it's soo much more fun here!!!

I just hope I wake up!! Lol
I'm just starving I can hear my stomach from miles away! I wouldn't mind but me and my OH went for a 4 course meal and I ate like a pig (it was like THE LAST SUPPER!!) but I am hungry again! The surgeon won't be able to concentrate listening to my tum! Ha ha xxx
I hope I'm first on his list!! X

Re: January Buddies!
Oh, you will hun, don't fret about that
I was going to be second on my PS's list and as it was long op for the first, he warned me when he came round for his chat, that it would be later on in the morning when I was due in theatre. However I was gob smacked (and overjoyed) when a nurse came into my room about 10 mins later and told me to get my dressing gown on as they had shuffled things around and I was going up there and then.
I don't know why they changed it round, whether the lady in before me had suddenly got cold feet or she had eaten something outside the allocated time - I didn't stop to ask, I wanted to be i theatre as soon as possible.
xx

I know just what you mean Carol, I seem to be on here at every opportunity! SInce I found this site I've kept more up to date with the lives of those on here than some of my best friends Shameful, but it's all seems so relevant right now - I'm so glad to have found somewhere I can'talk' so openly.
Rikki, I am excited now, although I keep checking my phone for messages incase there's a problem again. I was tempted to call my surgeon's PA to check he's ok, but worried she'll think I'm a crazy woman - gotta be of sane mind to sign the consent form haven't I
Just wondering (because Friday is all I can think about and things keep popping in my head) did everyone remove nail polish? I haven't been told to and my toes look so much prettier painted!
Also, I'm going in at 7.30am coz PS has an all day list. I was hoping he'd do me early on as I've already had to wait an extra 2 weeks for my boobies , but wondering if he'll do day cases first and I'm staying overnight. Any views?

Re: January Buddies!
Yes, it killed me to remove my nail polish from fingers and toes Carrie , but my clinic was insistent - no nail polish ANYWHERE. However, I did read that some girls at other clinics didn't have to - so it is worth checking with your PCC exactly what they stipulate.

Re: January Buddies!
Yeah me too Carrie, I was told to remove all traces of nail polish from fingers and toes...I thought at one point when the nurse looked at my acrylic nails she was going to tell me to get them removed too....thankfully it was ok to leave them on!!!!
But as Carol said you will have to check with your own clinic really.
As far as being seen first, I'm not sure as I was a day case so I was in theatre by 11am and home by 6pm but the girls that were overnighters we taken down in the afternoon. I suppose it depends how busy he is on the day. There's always a chance of girls not turning up on the day as well, as happend on my BA day, so that could push you up the list.....
Anyway, Good luck Carrie for the 21st, it would have been worth the wait I'm sure!!!! xx

Re: January Buddies!
My clinic told me I could leave nail polish on toes and when I showered the morning of op not to use any shower gels that were overly scented.
I would ask your surgeon's secretary if the operating list has been done yet - my surgeon only operated at the hospital in the afternoons which is why I had to stay in overnight.
I also questioned when I was allowed to eat up to as on my letter it said it was 2 am but my admission wasn't til 12 mid-day, when I checked they said they had told me fasting times for morning admission by mistake - so at least I was allowed breakfast at 7 am.
Good luck for Friday xx

Re: January Buddies!
Carrie when I went in last week there were 5 others having it done by my surgeon, the rest were overnight stays, I was the only day case and I went down first, they said day cases are always first as they like to keep them in hospital as long as possible. Saying that there might not be any day cases anyway so you could go first? Ask them when you get there and find out if theres any way you can be bumped up the list, I would say that you were so nervous the day before you couldn't face eating and now you're syarting to feel bad, say the nerves are really bad and you just want it overwith asap so please please could they try and put you first. You'd be suprised how much you can get if you really want it lol :)

Oooh, like it ToriLoula! I'm such a nightmare when I haven't eaten - I usually start feeling lightheaded so it wouldn't be a million miles from the truth. My tummy will probably be rumbling so loudly, the lovely Mr Topping will hear it in theatre and take pity on me
Thanks everyone for nail polish comments - will phone hospital tomorrow as I haven't been told either way.

Re: January Buddies!
Carrie try it honestly, they can only say no at the worst, if it works you'll be buzzing, if you don't do it and your one of the last on the list, even last, you will be kicking yourself for not trying! Be cheeky and brave, you'll never see the nurses again so don't worry about feeling bad! Tell them as soon as you get there then they have time to sort the files into order with you at the top!! lol.
Good luck luvly, It's brill honest, enjoy the GA!!

Re: January Buddies!
Hi Carrie - I would say it's highly likely he'll do daycases first as they will want to give them max time for recovery before they go home, as someone else has said. However, sec will be able to tell you how may people he has on the list & how many daycases & likliehood of you being able to go down earlier - after all that you've gone through.

Re: January Buddies!
Well, my lovely January buddies, my time has come - 2 weeks late, but better late than never! No phonecalls today so I'm good to go . I'm staying at my mum's tonight so's not to disturb the kids in the morning and I'm staying overnight after the op, so I'll check back in when all's done and I'm back at my PC (unless they have wifi at the hospital in which case I might post from my ipod) Take care everyone, see you on the other side, Carrie xxx

Re: January Buddies!
feeling pretty yuk today - not such a good day. Yesterday was fab so I thought it was onwards & upwards. But boobs umcomfortable all day & I seem to have increased numbness on one side that I'm not sure was there before hand which has worried me.
Oh well, I should be lucky that this is the first real down day I've had so far and on they whole I do love my boobs, just wish they would hurry up & feel more normal.
Is anyone putting any oil or anythign on theirs that eases feeling? Misf1 - you were using Bio Oil I think - does that help? I don't need to massage my implants but could probably put something gentle onto skin to help?

Re: January Buddies!
Hi hun, the nurse told me to start massaging them after I had had my 7 day post op review and said I could use creams and lotions - but not anywhere near the scars. As bio oil does tend to spread (even to areas that you haven't applied it to), I would stick to ordinary moisturisers for now (I actually used Palmer's Cocoa Butter lotion which is said to be good for stretch marks).

Re: January Buddies!
Hi lilibet...
I totally understand where your coming from definetly feel a bit down and flat some days and want the incisions to at least be healed and to be at the stage when I can exercise ( that really helps my mood).
But then I look at them and think about how I was pre op and how that affected my confidence and me as a whole and just think wow they are sooomuch better - it's crazy how quickly some people get used to them!!
I also think that 6 weeks or even a year in the grand scheme of things is nothing when trying to achieve our own perfect results...
I have used bio oil but like carol says I'm on the cocoa butter at the mo and they are gradually softening - when I'm healed more I'll probably go back to bio oil too.
Hope you're back to feeling a happy member of the boobie club soon - I'm convinced it's all part of the journey.
Em xx
