Feelings straight after op?
Ok me again with another stupid question so i was speaking to my mum who as some of you may know had her op last year.
She was trying to describe what its like when you come round and what your boobs feel like..but its just made me panic more lol, so if anyone can describe what it felt like when they came round..was it heavy or could you not feel anything??
I know im going to be going through it all for myself in a week but id just like to know so i dont panic when i come round and think theres something sat on me! lol

Re: Feelings straight after op?
I dont remember feeling anything but - Wow look at these ! I think the painkillers they give you during the op keep working for quite some time after so you feel fine .
good luck you'll be sound!!

Re: Feelings straight after op?
When i came round, i was half asleep and confused.. I didnt know where i was or who was around me. My boobs were sore and i said to someone my chest hurts a bit and i had a painkiller injection. I also kept asking is it all over, are you sure, etc, then they wheeled me back to my room where i kept falling asleep again lol x

Re: Feelings straight after op?
Im sure its different for everyone, but you know when you first wake up from a deep long sleep and you still feel tired and just want to roll back over, it was like that for me! Except it takes much longer to wake up really so you just feel tired. It'll be ok hun you'll be in your bed, you slowly come round and then you feel normal. I woke up with a mask on and kept trying to take it off hehe.
I wasnt even aware of my boobs, didn't think to look down until a while after as i was sleepy, my ps told me he would inject local anaesthetic in the whole breast area so i was numb until the next morning so i didnt have pain. They felt heavy when i got up to go loo though xxx

Re: Feelings straight after op?
When I came round I remember being absolutely freezing and out of it (but kinda knew what was going on if that makes sense) I kept asking touching them and thinking OH MY GOD I HAVE
As soon as I got back to my room I begged the nurse to help me get up so I could go to the bathroom and have a look at them in the mirror..My chest did feel heavy and I kept clutching onto them as I thought my surgeon might not have stitched me up properly and the implants might fall out..

Re: Feelings straight after op?
Of course you are worried about everything hun, your op is so soon! When I woke up I first didn't realise where I was and started talking about doing my laundry, then I remembered I must be in hospital and felt really embarrassed for what I just said and started apologising for being so silly, the nurse was looking at me with a puzzled expression as I don't think she understood one single word of what I was blabbering... only then I paid any attention to the fact that my chest felt heavy, which means it can't have hurt that much! what I'm trying to say is that I was quite confused for a few minutes and I think a lot of people are, but mainly you should expect to feel tired and just falling in and out of sleep for a bit, your chest might feel tight, if you have any pain simply tell the nurses and they'll give you extra painkillers - they work really fast. Everyone says it's not as bad as they thought so don't worry, just think of the emotion of waking up with new boobies!!!!

Re: Feelings straight after op?
I really didn't want to wake up. I think it took about half hour to fully start to come round. During that time I was half in half out!
When I had my first GA I started shaking like a junkie, really shivering, if you do this they'll cover you with a heated blanket.

Moonmar that is so funny you were talking about your laundry! You are obviously a very clean and domesticated person!
When I came round from a GA once there was a guy who was coming round from his at the same time and shouting complete rubbish, and then was quite embarrassed after! The nurse said it's quite common. Also GA's can make you feel a bit weepy after - that happened to me.

Hiya hun, i remember when i woke up both times my chest felt heavy, not painful and not really bad but just light pressure. It just felt a bit odd but once the nurse propped me up a bit i felt a lot better :)

Re: Feelings straight after op?
Not being silly at all!!!! I have had a few G.A.'s so I knew what to expect... like everything you have to experience it to know.
For the b.a. I stirred when the nurses tried to wake me, I was back in my room they were telling me it was all done and I had some beautiful boobies!!! I just wanted to sleep, I can remember waking on and off very thirsy, hungry and giggly!! I do remember having a tight feeling on my chest ... but too dopey to care. I dont recall saying anything, but probably did.. they get everyones life secrets I guess? I wish you well for next week - you will wonder why you thought you were being silly.!! All the best, let us know how it all goes for you x
