Re: So upset!
Hellooooo,
Sometimes it can be a little easier to get credit with your bank as they have full view of your current account and you kind of build up eligibility without actually having credit.
Having said that banks are being a tad tight at the mo what with the sodding recession. Mine turned me down last month but then Tesco gave me the money???????
Credit is just one of those things its just impossible to tell till you try. Good luck!!!!!

Re: So upset!
We went with credit card tarting. This is where you whack it on a credit card with 0% on purchases for a year, then do a balance transfer to another new card you apply for (and get hopefully) 12 months down the line, using that cars 0% on balance transfers for X months, and so on and so on for X years till you pay it off. We planned on 3 year pay off period. We worked out the cost doing it this way compared to a loan, and to my surprise credit card tarting was cheaper, plus you have the added flexibility of paying off more when you want at no extra cost. We also found it easier to apply for a credit card rather than a loan and got accepted instantly. My partner paid though and has has several cards in the past and credit rating is good.

Re: So upset!
No joy from my bank, felt like the woman took one look at me and said no. Just applied online for a loan from Santander, I should hear from them in the next few days. If this doesn't work I'll have to stop applying because everytime I'm rejected It effects my (already bad) credit rating. Feeling very low at the moment, having a hard time at work and questioning my relationship and I sometimes feel like just forgetting about the whole thing!! :tears:

Re: So upset!
Ahhh. That's a shame hopefully Santander will come good.
Doesn't help when everything else is feeling generally crap tho does it?
On the plus side, they say these thing happen in 3's so at least nothing else should go wrong.

Re: So upset!
This is what happened to me two years ago.
I applied to Abbey, which is my bank (now Santander) for a loan. But I happened to do this when the credit crunch was still young ,new and fresh, taking over everybody's lives! I had no choice but to save up the money myself. I was determined not to let the money lenders ruin my dream.
I happen to be a very good little saver. I'm very determined! I wanted to go to Japan for a month and I did just that! It was my dream thing to do. As well as my boobs of coarse. I had to work hard for Japan (which is not a cheap place to visit) so, when I got refused a loan as disappointed as I was I knew I could do it all by myself and I thought 'at least I won't have to pay these people the darn interest.'
If you're not used to saving like a maniac like I am, it may seem a lot. But trust me. You can get it done in about a year if you're disciplined and start now.
If you're lucky though, you won't have to. But if it doesn't work out, these loans, grow some fangs and keep pursuing your dream! I wish you all the best. xxx

Re: So upset!
You're all so kind ladies and have helped me so much. I've got used to the fact santa wont be bringing this year, I'm just sulking now because I'd always wanted them before I was 30 (these things are sent to try us). I guess I'll have to dig out the piggy bank and start doing it the hard way. Nothing new there then as I tend to it the hard way all the time (think my boyfriends words were strong minded and stubborn) I don't like asking for help lol. xx

Re: So upset!
Just think how good it will feel when you've saved up the money yourself and don't have to pay interest to a bank for your new boobies! Then with the money you'd normally save you can go bra shopping
