So upset!
Got the news I was dreading, I've been refused credit! She said she thought it was because I have never had a credit card, it seem stupid that you have to get in debt to borrow money. Really don't know what to do now, my boobie dreams have been shattered!! x :tears:

Re: So upset!
I'm sorry to hear that hun. Yep they like you to have some debt before they will give you money, you could probably go out and buy a car on finance today, but that's only cause they can take it off you if you dont pay.
Re: So upset!
Hey hun, it is tough at the moment. Mastercard do a pre payed credit card with an inbuilt credit builder (if that is the right word) [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] You can save up to £5000 on it, just top it up as you go along. plus you have all of the normal mastercard safeguards. Plus it has nothing to do with your normal bank so you can use it as a separate savings accounts. You just have to accept that that you won't get any interest on it. I know this sucks, but when needs must it is amazing what you can do when you want something bad enough. xo hope it works out for you chick, all the best xo

Re: So upset!
It seems strange hun but thats the way it works your credit history shows a potential company whether you would be viable to lend to by showing if you have made your ayments and if they have been on time etc. If you have no history you are just as likely to get refused as someone who has a bad history unfortunately. Mels idea is the best way to start your credit rating xx

Re: So upset!
Sorry to hear that honey, can you not get the op on credit from the company you wanted to book through?
A bank loan is a good option too as the interest rate might be lower than a credit card. The bank you've been with the longest might be the best option for this as they will know all your history rather than a bank you don't bank with.
Check out moneysavingexpert.com it's a fab website and there's loads of info about building up your credit rating and the best deals to get on loads of stuff. It is created by Martin Lewis the guy who's alwats on the tv about spending and saving etc..
Good luck honey, I'll keep my fingers crossed for you xx

Re: So upset!
Sorry to hear this chick. Just wondering are you on the register of electors list? i was told once that if you are not registered to vote, that can affect your credit rating. Might be worth looking into along with everything else. Hope you find a way xx

Re: So upset!
Aww sorry to hear that hun, I've heard one of the best ways is to get a crediat card and pay it off each month so that you're not getting into debt. It is really silly though. I'm sure you'll get it sorted! :) xx

Re: So upset!
Credit cards don't mean debt. I charge everything I purchase/all my bills to my credit cards and pay the balance in full each month. Consequently, my credit score is perfect, and I got approved for a loan from CareCredit for $5600 within 30 seconds. You only go into debt with credit cards if you're irresponsible and buy stuff you can't afford to pay off immediately. Good luck getting financed.

Re: So upset!
I could save for them but I don't want to wait any longer. It would take me years to save. If I get turned down by my bank then I'll have to look into the credit card option. I hate owing money and even being in my overdraft stresses me out but some things are worth it. If I got turned down for one thing I'll probably get turned down for them all except credit cards and loans with a stupid APR and I'm not going down that road. Going to my bank tomorrow and as I've been with them for 13 years they're my best bet so fingers crossed!! xx
