Re: Fear of surgery
I'm with you on this one tanyajade, they can knock me out the moment i walk into the hospital and wake me up about 4 days afterwards.
I hate the thought of walking into the theatre and see the knives and such laying out. I think i will faint, Can you ask to put out and wheeled into theatre?
Would still deffo have it done though.

Hi Chickville,
Everyone on here has said that you go into a small room next to theatre, the anesthetic room, and that's where they knock you out, which is such a relief!! So you don't actually see any equiptment, that would freak me the hell out!
Also, I'm going to ask the nurse for something for my nerves as soon as I get there, you should probably do the same if you're like me?!
Take lots of magazines with you xx

You'll be fine honey. I had only ever had sedation in the past & never a GA. It was fine. They all made me feel so relaxed....it helped that the anaethetist was good looking too.....kinda took my mind off it....lol . I even told the nurses in recovery off for waking me up as i was having such a lovely dream :-) x

Re: Fear of surgery
Hi lovely,
I thought I was going to be the same way. I had to walk myself to the room as it is done in the office. They give you oral pills to relax you (which work well) I felt drunk! When I lied on the op table and seen the honeycomb kind of lights I thought it would make me cry...but I was actually very excited. You will be full of so many emotions and drugs you won't even care. The nurses are sweet too and talk to you! They even accomodated me and put me out with a gas mask before the IV as I hate needles.
I would do it all again if I had too. I just may in the near future! But I am starting to like my size.
Hope that helps.

Thank you Elizabeth, I'm glad those relaxing tablets work well! Feeling drunk lol, I hope I don't say something inappropriate! I may ask for the gas too... thank you huni xxx
Re: Fear of surgery
Just another thought.....if you don't like needles either you can ask for them to numb the area first before they insert the canula. But if they use the cream it needs to be done 1/2hr before. I mentioned i didn't like needles & they said to me in a lovely manner i should've told them x
p.s I couldnt wear make-up either...it's standard for surgery

the cream is good. my little girl had it for a blood test. no harm in something for your nerves before and you def won't see any instruments etc. just keep reminding yourself why you're doing this. lovely new boobies

Re: Fear of surgery
I like the idea of the drugs that make you feel drunk but i'll probably start telling everybody i love them. Am a silly drunk and normally fall asleep after about 2 glasses of wine!

Re: Fear of surgery
I remember my husband was more nervous than I was, the whole what is scenario. My PS asked if I had any last questions, I said not a question but please do a good job and don't kill me, he couldn't cope. We all had a laugh and that took the edge off. If you chose this PS you must have made a connection and you trust his ability.
Most of all tell him you are nervous and and I'm sure they will understand.
