How long did it take you before you could exercise
Sorry wasn't enough room to put a question mark x
I know all the info says 6 weeks, but is it really longer than this??
I usually do Body Pump, Combat,Attack and running. Dreading how I'm gonna look after 6 weeks of not doing any exercise but it will be worth it (just don't want to go back for lipo ha ha!)
Thanks

Re: How long did it take you before you could exercise
The general advice is 6 weeks post-op babe, but a lot of us maintain fitness by walking in those 6 weeks, just to keep off the dreaded extra pounds and maintain some form of fitness level.
After 6 weeks you 'should' get the OK from your surgeon to resume excercise barring any complications, but don't expect to pick up where you left off pre-BA hun, you'll find you'll need to build yourself up gradually, if you do too much too soon you can be sure your new boobies will let you know, they ache like heck and it puts you back again, so it's best to be sensible, start slow and work yourself back into your routine gradually. xx

I was told to wait 6 weeks too. It was hard but as i have some equipment at home I used my crosstrainer but without using my upper half (only legs). Didn't use my treadmill i went for walks instead up the tracks where i live. It was enough to burn a few calories in that 'rest' period. It soon flies hun & you'll be back to full fitness pretty quick if your fit prior xx

Re: How long did it take you before you could exercise
Thanks guys, just found a post in the fitness section on about this after I posted so apologies. A great thread on there talking about the same thing! I'm going to invest in some of those Reebok trainers (or similar) for walking on my treadmill at home.
I'm getting married next year so want to have my op soon so I have enough time to recover and get back into shape (reckon I'll be resorting to that bulging brides show on Living ha ha!)
K xx

I was told that after 2/3weeks I could do lower body work like the bike for example but no upper body work or anything involving the arms and chest areas. xx

Yes me too, I went back to the gym for the first time this week at 3 wks post op and the treadmill was fine for walking , the bike was fine if I sat up straight but the leaning onto the bars startted to feel heavy after a while but it was good to get active again.
My PS said no upper body for 4 weeks and then really light weights so pump class is out for a while.

Re: How long did it take you before you could exercise
I am 6 weeks PO i went on my cross trainer last week a couple of times without using my arms, just for a short time. Then went on last night properly.
My chest muscles felt really weird later that night, like achey and as a consequence i had a dream i was having another BA but as i was about to be put under I asked what size implant they were giving me to make me bigger they said 220cc
I awoke terrified, heart racing and panting (I had 260cc in there already they had been about to make them smaller)
NIGHTMARE LOL

Oh janeybird, I'm having dreams already about me ha ha! Think it doesn't help any spare mo I'm on here though, but can't help it.
I am such an organised person and research into everything 247, when we booked our wedding I was the same about that too but that's eased off a bit now as I'm looking into this.
My mum comes back off her hols today so gonna talk to her tomorrow about looking after the kids so I can have some consultations, not sure how she's gonna react though, bit worried really
