Since having my GA, about 3 days after I had a sore throat which led to a cough and it has got worse, it's not on my chest just in my throat but it's driving me mad!!!

Yeah, really common to have some irritation after either an ET tube or LMA during a general anaesthetic. Look out for a fever or productive cough/being chesty/difficulty breathing that suggest something that needs treatment. Honey and lemon/hot drinks should help. There's little evidence on the efficacy of cough syrups so wouldn't waste your money there.

Yep, just like Kay said, the tube can irritate your throat. The GA can also mess with hormones, and having a big op can obviously make you weaker and more susceptible to a cough or cold. Drink plenty of fluids and maybe get some strepsils to stop the coughing, I know how much it can hurt!

I had the worst cough and cold ever after my ba. The worst of it was the coughing. I thought my stitches we're going to pop. It felt that way anyway xx
