A bit scared
I've been spending most of the evening reading the horror stories of the pip implants. I feel so bad about the girls who've paid a fortune to have them and now must pay to get them out. Worse for those who had the implants ruptured and had surgery to get their nods removed!
Somehow, I'm scared that in the near future, it might happen with the nagor implants since they are not FDA (sp)? registered. I've been so worried all evening and been doing so much research to make sure the implants I have are safe and nothing as bad happens to me and the other girls who have them. I know it's a bit too late but I can't stop worrying, even though I've been reassured by my ps that the implants are safe etc..
Sorry for putting my concern on you gals, I know I sound stupid but I was just wondering if any of you feel the same way?

Re: A bit scared
Hey hun, I know it's difficult not to be worried about stuff like that but honestly, PIPs are in a league of their own (at the bottom!) when it comes to implant quality. It is widely known that Nagor, Allergan and Mentor are regarded as a much better quality implant compared to PIPs when it comes to surgeons, I'm sure Snake has commented on it in the past. Please try not to worry - you have a good quality implant in there! xxxx

Re: A bit scared
I have Nagor implants and although they are not FDA approved, I know Mybreast would never use a implant that was not of good quality (they have a reputation to uphold afterall!). At my consultation my OH told my ps that we wanted a really good high quality implant, even if it meant paying alot more money for it. My ps reassured us that the Nagor implants were of very good quality and that they wouldn't use them if they weren't. If my ps (who I trusted wholeheartedly) was happy with them, then that was good enough for me and so I had these Nagor's put in.
I don't think you should compare Nagor to PIP's hun, they are a whole different ball game! I can understand your worry thou, I too am a big worrier and worry about everything, however, the way I see it is they are in now and if anything did happen it's beyond my control. Through my own research coupled with what my ps told me, I made an informed decision to have these implants and so far (touchwood!) I am very happy with them.
Above all hun, we have to remember that regardless of what implants we have (exclusing PIP's of course) there is still always a risk that something could go wrong in the future, it's not nice to think about and I hope it doesn't happen to me or anyone but I am realistic that some things are just out of our control so there is little point in worrying about it.
Just enjoy your boobies lovely and try not to worry about the "if's" and "buts"

Re: A bit scared
I have allergan inspira implants which were what MB used at the time of my ops. I don't know for sure but am confident in MB's reputation that they wouldn't use anything that wasn't top of the range. PIP implants have been widely know to be of a lower quality and this was reflected in the prices the companies who used them quoted. Its always a worry - just because I've got allergans doesn't mean that something won't go wrong in the future but I would say with Nagors, Allergan and Mentors the probability that something could go wrong is much lower.

Re: A bit scared
I had the oppotunity to go with Allergan or Nagor as I had started my consultation before they switched but I still decided on the Nagors as they had more sizes and a softer implant with the same lifetime guarntee as Allergan... along with the fabulous aftercare you get with MB you have are covered hun.
My surgeon was also very reassuring about the safety of the implants. He told me that the person that started up McGhan (bought by Allergan) is the same person that started Nagor. So I'm sure the standards are just as high if not better
PIPs didn't have a lifetime guarantee and this is why some girls have to pay for new ones.
Don't worry hun, enjoy your new boobies!!

Re: A bit scared
Hi im having nagor, and i searched out a company that actually uses nagor, because i had read about them and thought they were a really good brand, made in the uk individually and come in all sizes and ones with smaller band widths to for petite girls like me. They do have a lifetime warranty, but as with any implant from the cheapest to the most expensive you cant guarantee them not to ruputre you just dont think about it.. enjoy them..the nhs use them and im sure they wouldnt use anything that would be harmful to any patient expecially when they are doing reconstructive surgery..
enjoy hun xx
enjoy hun xx
