Out with the PIP's !!!
Hey everyone..
I have booked my re-op for 16th of June
After masses of begging and borrowing i have finally managed to get together the £2000.00 to get these pip's out. You would not believe how relieved i am, these last few weeks have been horrendous, knowing that i have these implants in me that have leaked into my body and nobody knows what they contain.
I am now looking for some post surgery bra's, does anyone know of any low cost ones which are any good, as my finances are stectched beyond their limit at the moment.
Thanks xxx
PS how do i get one of the coun down calendar on ?? x

Re: Out with the PIP's !!!
Wonderful news Leigh! I'm really happy for you babe! I just posted in the other PIP thread about MyBreast doing an offer for ladies with ruptured PIP implants and offering free Nagor implants to all patients with ruptured PIPs!
Where are you having your surgery done babe? are you having replacement implants? or just having the PIPs explanted?
Asdas sports bras are good hun and I think they're only about £4-£6 so good value too!
You can find instructions on to add a ticker HERE hunni. xx

Re: Out with the PIP's !!!
Hi
thanks everyone, i am having new implants put in by Surgicare who did the original op, they are using Nagor implants this time.
Will def have to have a look at asda and primark then, last time i bought them from Marks & Spencer and it cost me just under £60 for 3...i would not mind but it is probably only 3 months since i threw them away...

Re: Out with the PIP's !!!
It's also a great relief, cant describe how awful this last few weeks have been, they have been made worse by the fact that the tests on the implants are takiing so bloody long. All i want to know is what is actually inside my body !!!
I have rung the MHRA several time's asking for updates on the tests, but all they keep saying is that their website would be updated as soon as they have further info...GRRRRRR
I have my MRI scan on the 4th of june, which will also tell me for definate if anything has gathered on my lymph nodes - so fingers crossed for that.
This is definately not the end of the matter though, once i have had my re-op and my head is a bit straighter i'm gonna think of my next step.

I have PIPs too and due to problems will be having a scan and possible re-op. I was carefree and excited the first time around but this time around I will be exactly like you, nervous and worried.
It would be a relief to have the PIPs taken out though.
I wish you the best of luck with your scan you mentioned your having done today and the following surgery. Other women who had PIPs and leakage into lymph nodes or tissue have had successful re-ops and are very happy now with the results.
All the best, MissP.xx

I didn't have PIPs but did go through this surgery, I'm now 6 months post-op and doing well. xx
Re: Out with the PIP's !!!
Hi everyone
The pips have gone - woop woop...
And what a relief it is too, i spoke to my surgeon following my op, both had ruptured, but the right one had gone totally. The nurse who was in surgery with me said that the right one was so bad it actually came out in bits and she had never seen a rupture like it. Because of this i ended up been in theatre much longer than i should of been.
I am so angry.... how many women have had to suffer because the company making the implants have not used the correct filling. I think all us pip ladies need and deserve some answers, somebody has to be made accountable for this.
xx

I would also like to ask because I have PIPs, Ive been in pain for months in my breasts and arms and I have a small lump at the side of my breast. I have had an ultrasound scan done by the cosmetic company who gave me the PIPs but I feel that they didnt do it right and were able to say I didnt have rupture, now waiting for the NHS to see me at the breast clinic which is a long wait.

Re: Out with the PIP's !!!
hi there leigh. I havent been on for a while but i know i could rely on this site to give me info re the PIP's. I see you're getting your's re-done. How did you know that they'd leaked? How were Surgicare about replacing them? How long ago did you get them done originally?
I got mine done in manchester with surgicare last september. I've had PIP's, they seem to feel ok but obviously i am worried incase they do leak.
What a nightmare!! You've got these amazing boobs then this happens. hope it all goes well for you xx
