5 weeks post op questions Empty 5 weeks post op questions

Post by Becstarr 20th May 2010, 2:20 am

Hi Everyone

I was 5 weeks post op yesterday and I'm a little worried about them.
I had anatomical under muscle 380cc.

They are still really hard and don't feel natural at all. At night time they get really sore especially when I'm turning from side to side. Is this normal for 5 weeks post op?

I'm supposed to wear a support bra for 6 weeks after the op so I can go into normal bras next week but I'm not sure whether to or not?

Also I'm a fitness fanatic. I'm worried about getting back into that. I normally jog, lift weights etc. and not sure that I'll be able to. The surgeon said to avoid it all for 6 weeks?

Sorry to bombard you all with questions but hoping I can got advise!

Thanks

Bec x

hi hun

i was 5 wks post op on monday with unders and uplift, and my boobs are still really hard, and only move a bit! i can almost lie on my side now if i put a pillow next to me to let it ''mould'' round them, iykwim.

i think it takes a lot longer for unders to get softer, as the muscle can be tight for months

Yes hun, it's very normal - Mine were like boulders till about 8 weeks post-op and then they started to relax, one dropped sooner than the other so I had wonky boobs for a couple of weeks too, my turning point was 10 weeks post-op and by 12 weeks I had boobs I was happy with, I'm just over 5 months post-op now and mine are still softening babe. Things will get better sleep wise, it just takes time hun.

You'll be fine if your PS agrees that it's OK for you to start wearing underwires. I went into them gradually as I found at first the wires made my boobs ache but now I wear them everyday with no problem at all and love the shape I get from wearing them.

Also I'm a fitness fanatic. I'm worried about getting back into that. I normally jog, lift weights etc. and not sure that I'll be able to. The surgeon said to avoid it all for 6 weeks

After your 6 week recovery, just listen to your own body hun, take things gently at first and don't push yourself, build your routine up gradually and you'll be just fine - If you find you suffer any aching or discomfort, ease off a little and take things easy till you're stronger. xx

I started training again after about 3 weeks but didn't lift weights until well after 6 weeks. Even then I was really careful about training chest and back. My ps said I was fine to do cardio (stepper, walking uphill etc) but to be sensible and if something didn't feel right to stop. Remember with unders the muscle has undergone quite a big trauma and will take a good while to recover.
