Post ba questions!
Hi ladies!
Im 9 days post op now and im still sleeping upright and having the worst nights sleep every night. Am i allowed to lay in my normal position now? I cant remember what they said. Also, do I have to wear the sports bra at night for 6 weeks too? x x x

Re: Post ba questions!
I would try and sleep upright till your are around 2weeks hun, but if you find yourself waking up in another position then that should be fine aslong as you are not in a discomfort.
What did your surgeon say in regards to your sports bra, as some have different ideas so its best to check. As a rule I think most do say day and night for 6 weeks but best be on the safe side. x

Re: Post ba questions!
You 'generally' have to sleep 'propped up' (head and shoulders raised, not sitting) for about 10 to 14 days, maybe longer depending on the swelling.
If you find your boobs are still really swollen then I'd give it another couple of days hun as this sleeping position is used to help naturally disperse the swelling, if you're fine, then try 'slowly' losing a pillow and easing yourself onto your side, if it hurts, back on your back for a couple of days, then try again - It's all about listen to your own body hun.
If you've been instructed to wear your sportsbra for 6 weeks then yes sweetness, that also includes needing the support of your bra at night too. xx

I agree with cookie, can't reall add much more. If the sports bra is causing you pain during the night it might be it's too tight, so may be worth trying a bigger band size for now. Sports bras are a pain in the butt, but worth it in the long run. 6 weeks will fly by.

hi
i find it really uncomfy wearing a bra for bed so thats one of the things that i'm not looking forward too xx
think the surgeon told me that i'd have to leave mine on for 3 weeks but not sure. but i'm sure he'll tell me again when i've had my BA xx

Re: Post ba questions!
I had my 10 day check yesterday and the nurse said i'd be fine to sleep normally now thank god! And I only have to wear the sports bra at night for another 3 days but I think I might keep it on cos it feels too weird lugging these big boobs around with no support so im sure it'll feel the same at night too. I had my dressings removed yesterday too and I love my new boobs! I had a long awaited bath today and I just stared at my boobs the whole time! They feel so heavy and like they're about to fall off without a bra!
Hope you're healing well Jen86. Im well impressed with your new size and very happy for you after the post you wrote the other day freaking out about the size the bra calculator made you!! x x
