burning - is it normal? Empty burning - is it normal?

Post by beautybyzara 13th March 2009, 2:20 pm

Hi Girls
I woke this morning with severe burning under one boob. Have been back for a checkup and all looks ok. They changed my dressings and they've given me stronger pain killers.
Just wondered if anyone else had burning sensation over their incisions??

I had some pain in one of the incision for a few days (I wouldn't say burning but it hurt) however it soon went and my scars are healing fine. So if you have been for a check up and they told youall is well then I wouldn't worry hun xxx

burning is normal hun (like when your milk comes in after giving birth) but if they start to feel hot (to touch)or and go red, then contact your nurse as these are signs of infection. if its just a burning sensation this is fine hun.
confusing i know.
hope you feel better soon sweety!!!!
happy healing
hugs

Thanks girls
I called the hospital to tell them and they asked me to come in for a checkup. They changed my dressings and gave me stronger pain killers - so not quite with it at the moment lol!
The burning has gone down quite a bit now thank god!

I had a burning feeling right in my boob, just behind my nipple. It was worse when I leant forward or moved a lot and was only in one boob for some reason. It was horrible!! Really made me cringe, almost like a chinese burn! But it stopped by a couple of weeks post-op, think it was the nerves knitting together.

I didn't have any pain in my scars, but that's because they were, and still are, totally numb!!!! Hope I get some sensation back soon!

Hi Hunni

I got burning in my left boob - everytime I got up or leant forward, and would last for around 8 seconds. It was really painful, too, and almost felt like blood was seeping out of the scar. I was quite concerned until the dressings came off and I could see that there was nothing leaking out.

It eased each day and was pretty much gone by 2/3 weeks PO.
