A Burning Sensation
Well I'm 2 days post op. Last night I began to get a burning sensation at the bottom of my boobs. Both boobs, but my right in particular. I've had partial unders. It's where there is no muscle covering the bottom of my implants is where the burning feel is occuring. Really inflamed. And on my scars too. I keep getting this horrible visual thought of my implant burning through my skin like molten lava and coming out. Anyone else had this sensation?

Re: A Burning Sensation
If they are really inflamed I would ask for an appointment to see the surgeon ASAP (or go and see your GP). If they feel hot too. You might have got an infection in there and you would need to start taking a course of antibiotics to fight it.
I hope it isn't this though

Re: A Burning Sensation
Oh sorry to hear that hun, I had overs but I did have some burning sensations around my scar in the early weeks, I would give your clinic a call and see if they can put your mind at rest.
I'm sure it's all normal hun, so much is going on at the moment and your boobs are sooooo brand new!!!!
Let me know what your PS advises hunnie. xx

Re: A Burning Sensation
My boobs were hot to the touch after my BA and my scars stung. I know a lot of girls get a sun burnt feeling over their boobs very early post op where the skin is very stretched. As the others have said I;d give the clinic a ring if you are concerned. To help relieve the feeling you can use cold compresses, frozen peas wrapped in a towel or ice packs.
Re: A Burning Sensation
My boobs were melting also, it was a all over hotness rather than a burning sensation.. I didnt have much feeling at all.
I used frozen sweetcorn it felt soooooo good & relieved the swelling

Re: A Burning Sensation
I've got anti-biotics. I'm gonna get something frozen. that should help. If it doesn't ease up I'll call the surgeon and let them know.

Hope anti biotics help - may be worth ringing clinic to let them know you have a suspected infection anyway. xx

Re: A Burning Sensation
Ugh i remember that sensation hunni! I actually woke out of my sleep maybe 2/3 days postop and sat bolt upright and squealed! I actually thought my scars/nipples were on fire! It was horrendous and the 1st real pain id actually felt. I found my pain meds werent lasting through the night and i was having to take some in the middle of the night when I woke. It does pass hun, all part of the healing process. All those little nerves and blood vessels etc are knitting back together. Its a good sign xx

Re: A Burning Sensation
Yeah that's what I'm having. It's the getting up from a reclining position that really sets it off most of the time. I'm glad to hear that it's just one of those feelings you can get soon after your op. And yeah this is the first real pain I've felt. Everything else is just 'uncomfortable' or 'weird'. But his hurts. Thanks Sophie. I really appreciate it!
