Did any of you girls follow a pre op eating plan? im having my BA on tuesday and i was sent a detox eating plan for pre and post op?! just wondered if anyone thought it was worth while because the pre op plan avoids all meat and then the post op plan involves a lot of turkey?

i hav e cut out alcohol and smoking but wondered if this will make much difference

Pre-Op Eating Plan Empty Re: Pre-Op Eating Plan

I just ate super healthy, cut out coffee completely and drank lots of water. I'm anaemic so I ate lots of iron rich foods too, which included red meat.

I wasn't sent a eating plan as such, but just made sure I ate really well in the run up.

Not long to go now for you! x x

I loved my morning starbucks coffee pre-op but gave up caffeine 5 weeks before my op and now I can't drink it! So, I haven't had any coffee PO at all.

Enjoy the day as it goes so very quickly! x x

I didn't do much, I stopped drinking alcohol a week before the op, I don't smoke so that wasn't an option. Didn't change my diet though, but it can't hurt to eat healthily!

I also stopped drinking alcohol - probably about 2 wks before my op. I didn't stop eating the things i like but i did up my intake of fresh fruit and veg and had those probiotic drink things.

i stopped drinking alcohol, and smoking 5 weeks before surgery, started exercising more and ate lots of fruit and veg (lots of leafy green veg as it helps the blood to clot to prevent bleeding) and drank lots of water, and orange juice xx

Oh, just had a thought lovely, did HMG actually send you the plan?

Just be careful as it may be in your t&c that if you dont follow the plan then any complications aren't covered by your warranty.

Pretty hard to check up on if you ask me, but it might happen.

hiya i have the plan too as i'm with Hmg. However Other then the alcohol and smoking I couldn't imagine it being compulsary because there are no vegetarian options and I am a vegetarian so I wouldn't be able to follow it properly anyway. I am going to do the alcohol for a week or a bit more before and just try to cut out junk snacks!
