How obvious?
i'm booked for BA on 17th May and haven't told anybody at work (only been there 3 weeks and have deliberately worn extra padding and fillets from day one in anticipation of the op. However, having looked through this forum and found the you-tube video of post-op recovery, i'm starting to worry that it will still look really obvious when i go back to work.
Bit of info...... i'm having 360cc silicone round overs. Going from a 32b to hopefully a D/DD cup? I've got 2 weeks off work to recover which is really good, but in the video they looked really high and square and very, very obvious. I have tried the rice test and am going to start wearing my 'rice fillets' to work from Tuesday for my last 9 working days before the op on 17th (some of which will be spent out of the office and away from colleagues thank god) so hoping i will get away with it.
I'm starting to worry now as 2 days after i started, my colleagues got into a discussion about cosmetic surgery and how stupid and vain it is, i quickly made a phone call to avoid being drawn into discussion, lol
Am I worrying over nothing? Hoping it is just last minute panic nerves as really don't want to tell any of my colleagues at all.
Thanks ladies

Re: How obvious?
Hey pet, welcome to the forum! I think youll like it here! I really wouldnt worry about it being too obvious, especially since you have been wearing lots of padding in anticipation!
I had 340cc overs which took me from an empty 36c to a 36DD (in sports bra, i think ill be bigger in underwire) and mine looked quite natural from day one! I think that 'square' look you saw was unders which take longer to settle.
Stuff your colleagues and their opinions.. some people are so small minded even in this day and age! People never fail to shock me lol! I think you are just having a last min panic.. but really you will
be fine babes! Any other questions dont hesitate to ask! xxxx

Re: How obvious?
Thanks hon, that's made me feel a lot better.
I know it sounds daft, but i'm in with a chance of getting a promotion of sorts at work in the next year and have somehow convinced myself that if my current boss realises i've had surgery then they won't take me seriously enough for the new role! Daft I know, but something i need to think about.
Just need to relax i think - this time in 3 weeks i will have new boobs (and a new nose) woohoo!

Re: How obvious?
Often initially after surgery boobs can look an odd shape hun before they eventually drop and settle, but it isn't noticeable in your sports bra. Taking 2 weeks off is a good start, not only will you have time to get over your early recovery but you'll also be giving yourself some time to adjust to the new you too.
You'll be able to disguise your boobs and it's great that you've prepared beforehand with the padding.
Worry not sweetheart, you'll be fine. xxx

Re: How obvious?
Thanks, I feel a lot better about it now. Think it is just the nerves kicking in as only 15 days to go.
Can't remember how i chose my username to be honest - i've been using it for a few years on other sites so seemed logical to carry on using it. Makes me smile though as its a ridiculous name for a forum!!

Re: How obvious?
I felt the same after my BA as I had quite a large implant and was worried people at work would know. Although I do think some of the woman have suspicions no-one has asked me outright have you had a boob job.
If anyone asks you I'd laugh and say something like no where did you get that from. Make them seem stupid for thinking it.
good luck. xx

I feel so impatient waiting for this to happen. 2 weeks still feels like ages away, lol.
Bumblelady you are 5 days before me - how exciting. How are you feeling about it?

Re: How obvious?
I wouldn't worry yourself hun, this is such an exciting time so enjoy it and don't worry about what other people may or may not think...
A month before my op I started wearing extra padding and chicken fillets to work too, but this was mainly to get used to having bigger boobies. I then had 3 weeks off work to recover and rest before I went back. It did take me a bit of time to adjust and I have only just started not wearing scarfs to cover my chest area. No one has asked me anything and tbh I really don't think they would even if they had an inkling. I have prepared myself thou and like pinkbabe would laugh and make them feel silly about asking me!
Good luck! x x

Re: How obvious?
i hadn't thought about wearing scarves, although it will be june by the time i go back to work and that may seem a bit odd if the weather is nice as our office is like a sauna in the summer.
will just have to wait and see how they come out and carry on with rice bra and chicken fillets in the meantime.
Cheers lovelies xx

Re: How obvious?
I've been wearing lots of silk scarfs and some other thin ones, so they are nice for spring/summer, our office is like a sauna at the minute so I couldn't get away with wearing a big wolly scarf, I would definately draw attention to myself then

Re: How obvious?
I was asked on Friday, my third day back at work since the BA outright by a guy I know and I said yes I had and he was like I knew it!
He said I hope you dont mind me asking and I said and thanked him for being upfront and asking me outright rather than trying to get it out of me without asking me directly like this so called friend at work did, also on Friday.
Try not to worry
Lots of love

Re: How obvious?
I wouldn't worry lovely, you've done the great thing in wearing padding etc, so it may mean you increase the padding gradually until you're nearer your BA date. I'd say two weeks before add more, then 10 days before add more, then a week add more... then by the time you have surgery hardly anyone will notice.
And even if they do, most people won't ask!

Re: How obvious?
Well, there are only 6 of us in my office including me and 3 of them have just had last week off, and the other 2 only work part time and have been out on appointments when i've been in and vice-versa so I am at maximum rice-bra padding now.
I figure that they would know that i couldn't of had a boob job in their week off as I was at work the whole week and so when i get back from actually having the proper BA after 2 weeks off, my boobs shouldn't be much different from their padded size now and they won't reslise.
Just hope to god my nose bruising will have gone by then or at least be coverable by make-up as that might give the game away - unless I tell them I had an accident on my holiday?
Hmmmmm, will have to start thinking up some nose excuses, haha

Re: How obvious?
HI Stilton,
I told no one and nobody has noticed.. but, like you I wore extra padding couple months before, one thing you could do is wear the sports bra you intend to wear when you go back to work and just stuff it with your padding/fillets...... that way colleagues will get used to the shape the SB will give you.. I have two SB;s one heavy duty front zip almost crop top and it totally flattens me and holds them so tight, and a racerback one super comfy and I still wear it to work now,,, just a idea,... and only two people know about mine, other half and my best friend of 30yrs....xx

Re: How obvious?
Actaully, I have been wearing the sports bra with the rice fillets which has been quite effective.
I just can't face people asking me outright as i know i would go red and give the game away.
Only 9 days to go :)

Don't worry about it now, Stilton, you're having a bigger implant than me, but then I am on size 8... no one has cottoned on to mine, even thou I went AA to D/DD cup.....
when I first found out I was into D cup, I couldn't buy the bra even though it felt lovely, but I couldn't buy it because for me it ws such a shock to look at a D cup it looked liked a hat/shopping bag !!!!!! compared to my pretty little aa cups! however, you soon get used to it, and actually I know now D/DD cup isn't that big a deal, it will all depend how much you shove them in peoples faces!!!!!!! as yet I haven't worn a summer dress with a cleavage advertising my boobies!! its amazing how you can hide them, not the first week or so because you obviously can't do some things, making your bed, hoovering etc., but after a couple of weeks with right sb, and right clothing its easy to hide them...
don't worry, I am sure it will be fine, I also told a small white lie to my step daughter, I told her I had changed my contraceptive pill and thats made them bigger...... and I am enjoying it, she has seen my naked now and doesn't bat an eyelid and belive me if she thought for one min I had a boob job she would hassle me no end!
you can carry it off... hope this helps huni... so excited for you, I so enjoyed my day/recovery time xxxxxxxxxxxxx

Re: How obvious?
Thanks Katie, that makes me feel a lot better.
I definiately won't be advertising them in the first few weeks, haha. Looking forward to summer for the first time in years though - will finally be able to look decent in a bikini without having to wear something mega padded. Although i'm only a size 8, I am quite pear shaped so having nothing up top really exagerrates my bigger hips and i look totally out of proportion.
Love the fact you managed to blag your step-daughter with a change of pill, thats genius.
Its funny because I have pretty much prepared everything I need and have done everything i need to do, except buy some food in which will be done the day before. I've still got 9 days to go and keep wanting to do more prep even though there is nothing left for me to do but wait! Its going by quite quickly though - only have 5 days left at work next week and then that's it.
Thanks girls, this site is so helpful

oh,, just you wait for the bikini!! we just went on hol for first time and I bought two new bikinis and its is just INCREDIBLE to be able to walk about with BOOBS!!!!!!! and not padding!!!!!!! i felt so womanly on the beach for the first time in my life!!! thats what I adore most about my the journey is endless, such little things in time happen, a dress you wear for first time without padding, a bikini in public, even a T.shirt you have in your drawer you may put on and its like being a new woman........ they're fab,
I am sure you will get away with size no prob if your size 8 with hips....... I am size 8 and NO HIPS!!!!! always had a figure like a teenager BOY! muscley and straight down, lateral or dorsal views of me!!! but not any more!!!!!! so happy for you....... get your shopping in, change your bed sheeets, bring all your clothes & food you will eat (like butter on fridge shelf).. get it all to no more than shoulder height... you cna't reach for anything after.... its lovely to rest up with your new assets, and dont worry if you put some weight on and feel like bloated whale... all normal.. drink lots of water.... helps detoxify from the GA.... weight drops off after couple weeks when you get out and about again.... xxxxxxx
