hi I just had my clinic ring to say my pre op blood has high potassium level. So i have to go back to check it again. She said sometimes it could just be this particular sample. Anyone had this?

I had the same hunny... had to have three seperate tests including one my GP gave me too!

Mine did 'eventually' give an OK reading just 2 days before my op was scheduled! but I got there in the end! Hope yours comes back OK for you too hunny. xxx

oh thanks, what a pain. Did you have to change your diet? It may be ok when i go for it next week but just wondering just incase!

No hun, didn't change anything, I too was told after the first high result that it was possible it could be contaminated but when the second returned high again, there was concern that I wouldn't be able to proceed with the surgery until I got a normal result - fingers crossed yours is just caused by contamination babe.

aww sorry to hear about your recent blood test problems,i rember when cookie was going through the same thing x good luck and stay positive for your next blood test! xx

thanks cookie and mizzpink23. Well my next test isn't until a week today as was trying to fit it in with kids school times. Just keep my fingers crossed. x

Sometimes this can happen if you 'overpumped' your arm/hand to get a vein up before giving the sample hun.. could be nothing at all. xx
