High blood pressure at pre op
I had my pre op today and had unusually high bp, they did 3 readings and all were higher than their recommended threshold. Iv always had low bp even in pregnanc so this was a surprise! I hav a feeling its because im due on but anyway I have been told to go to my gp this wk to get it redone. Has anyone had there op rescheduled due to anything like this? Im hoping when I go to my gp it will be back to normal but I am now worried.

Re: High blood pressure at pre op
It may have been because you were a little nervous do you think at your pre-op?
If the readings from your GP are gain high sweetness, then it very possible the clinic will postpone your surgery. I'm so sorry if that's not what you wanted to read but I'm sure you'd much rather the truth and also you'd much rather know that you were 100% healthy before going under a general aneastetic.
If after seeing your GP the results of your next tests are fine then great babe, all will proceed no problem, but if your blood pressure is still found to be unusually high then once your GP has managed to get your blood pressure back under control, possibly with medication then it'll be just fine.
Have a look at this thread [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] babe to ensure you've popped it on here correctly. Xx

Hi
Try not to panic I had exactly the same thing in both of my pre ops mine was high then went to doctors to get it checked and it was fine doctor said it was probably nerves and stated on the letter back to clinic that mine is usually spot on and my op went ahead they are just looking out for your well being .
Xxx

Re: High blood pressure at pre op
Hi hun
I had high bp at my pre op and was referred back to my gp. I've had high bp issues in the past so was sort of expecting it. mine was still high when i saw my gp so they gave me some tablets and made me come in every other day for about 10 days to get it checked. the tablets worked and i had my pre op 4 days before my surgery! So worst case scenario is that they'll give you tablets to get it low enough for surgery but i would see your gp as soon as possible chick.
Good luck Xxx

Probably just the stress and excitement of having your pre op, so fingers crossed when your GP takes it you'll get a more normal reading. x

Re: High blood pressure at pre op
Thanks KA! I love 'em. with the right bra and top they can look massive but can also be played down and almost disappear in other bras and tops so best of both worlds what are your stats? Im 5'6" size 10 about 9 and a half stone.
I had mine done at abbey pines too! Its a lovely hospital and the staff there are fantastic!
Sounds like your bp may have been a one off cuz of nerves or like you said cuz you are due on so if all goes to plan, not long til you join the booze club too!! Xxx

Re: High blood pressure at pre op
Im a bit heavier than you queenyk (thanks to my big bum lol) im 5ft 5 and weigh 10 stone im a 12 bottom but only 8 - 10 top so hoping 410s will even me out. I cant wait to be able to buy dresses as iv never found dresses to fit my pear shape. Got docs fri for bp check. Iv been told the digital machines used to do bp are not as acurate so really hope docs will be fine as they use the old manual ones. So excited now just over a week to go! X
