did you see your boobs and surgeon after op?
Hello girls
I had my op on friday after the op i was taken back to my room and a nurse put my sports bra on for me however my surgeon never came in to see me after the op - which i thought would be a standard practise? Also as my boobs are all strapped up ive not actually seen them yet and none of the staff mentioned them to me either? I just thought it would have been nice for someone to tell me the op had gone well and they were going to look good etc?!
just wondering if this is normal?

Re: did you see your boobs and surgeon after op?
I'm unsure how other surgeons deal with their patients hun, but I've had two ops with two different surgeons with Transform and both came in to see me to ensure I was well enough for discharge and to tell me how my op went and that they would see me a week later... I thought was was standard practise to be honest.
Who did you have your surgery with hun and where?

I had dr khan through transform! Im just hoping my boobs turn out ok as im wondering why i went with him given his awful rushed manner!
ive an appt with the nurse next week . I will mention it to them there as it really doesnt seem right not to check/reassure on your patient after. I see him again in 6 weeks time. xx

I have to agree with you sweetheart, I would have thought you would have been seen by your surgeon prior to discharge :dunno:
Re: did you see your boobs and surgeon after op?
Hmm - does seem a bit odd, I didn't see my surgeon directly after surgery but I wasn't allowed to leave until he came to see me in the morning to check that all was ok...
I couldn't really see much of my boobies until my 10 day check up as they were strapped down xx

That is bad hun,I was also seen by my surgeon, in fact they made me wait for him (I wanted to go home) they said I couldn't be discharged with out him seeing me. No one offered to show me my new boobs either though, I had a peek in the full length mirror in the loo at my huge bandage lol. Did any dr see you before you left? I had a different Dr come to discharge me and give me my pills.

Hi hun...have to agree, think it's bad practice that you wasn't seen prior to discharge. I was seen twice by my ps before I went home xx

Hey hun,
Sorry to hear this. As far as I'm aware it's standard practice to see your patients prior to discharge, just to ensure everything is okay. If for whatever reason (maybe an emergency elsewhere) your ps isn't available to discharge you, then another on call doctor should see you and sign you off.
My ps came to see me early the next morning, checked my boobies, had a chat and discharged me. I would definately bring this up at your next appointment hun, seems very odd that this happened. x x

I had Mr Khan through Transform. He came in and gave them a quick poke and told me that I could go home!
To be honest, the nurses keep an eye on you and check your blood pressure every half an hour or so so they would have known that you were okay to go home.
I didn't get to see my boobs until my 10 day check up when I saw the nurse and the tape and strapping came off.
Mr Khan doesn't have the best bedside manner but what mattered to me was that he is a great surgeon and my boobs are perfect.
Happy healing
Marie

Re: did you see your boobs and surgeon after op?
Thanks girls!
I do remember one of the nurses telling me when i came out that he would see me but then when the next nurse came in to do blood pressure i was told i wouldnt see him until my 6 week check.
I think it was a dr that gave me my meds in the morning and i was then told i could go by one of the nurses.
Im defiantely going to complain as for all they know i could have been bleeding (no one ever checked my actual boobs) and every patient should be told that the surgey went well etc
thanks again. xx

Re: did you see your boobs and surgeon after op?
I had mine in Prague and my surgeon came to see me at 7am the morning after the op (my op was quite late the day before) then again at 9am to discharge me and give me some info & his card if i needed to contact him. I then saw him again a few days later for a check up before i flew back to the UK.
I think it is normal to not see your boobs straight away but not to not see your surgeon - I would complain if i were you - it is very daunting having surgery and you want your surgeon to confirm everything went as planned and things are ok for your to be discharged! A bit irresponsible of Transform if you ask me, they are normally really good.
