Hi Georgie, welcome to the forum hun!
Perhaps your new surgeon wants your boobs to look as natural as possible and as you're having bigger implants going under the muscle helps to disguise the implant. It does hurt more than overs but the overs girls say the pain isn't unbearable.
there's also a post in the Ask James McDiarmid section explaining why some surgeons use drains particularly in re-ops so check that out. I hear its not that painful though
Have you booked your surgery yet?

Georgie,
Unders are more painful as it's a more invasive procedure, however, the girls who have had unders do say the pain is bearable and of course you will get pain relief and as long as you keep up with those you will be fine hun.
With regards to why your surgeon has recc you go under the muscle this time round, could be due to you having quite a large implant and going under the muscle is the best placement to cover the implant. I would have a chat to your surgeon as he will be able to fully explain his reasoning behind the chosen placement.
I had drains and tbh it was one of the things I was worried about pre-op, but it really didn't hurt at all, I needn't have worried about it. It's all over in a few seconds!

I think you really need to check with your surgeon as to why you've been recommended unders with an implant as big as 525cc. I had unders with 445cc and had a placement change to overs as I had bad muscle flex distortion and db.
As for the pain factor, unders are more uncomfortable but I wouldn't describe it as pain. As long as you make sure you rest up loads and take your meds you'll be fine. As for the drains... I did find their removal quite painful but there are many girls who have said that they are fine. I honestly wouldn't worry about that. As long as you get the boobs you want with the surgeon you want then that is the main thing.

I'm guessing since your skin has stretched from having overs already, that going under this time will give you the best result with a larger implant. And don't even worry about the drains, they are no big deal, just a lil pinch.
