Re: sleeping upright
As long as you're sleeping upright (ie, not laying on your sides or boobs) then you're fine to lay down flat.
I think most people, when they hear 'sleep upright' think they literally need to sleep sitting up. There's a huge difference, one being that you'll actually get a decent night sleep!

Re: sleeping upright
Mr C didn't tell me to sleep upright. I did though as I found it really difficult pulling myself up. x

Re: sleeping upright
I've always been told that you should keep your head and shoulders raised for 7-10 days depending on your swelling. You don't have to sit bolt upright, just have your head and shoulders slightly raised.
In saying that though, if you're not experiencing any discomfort laying flat and aren't experiencing any swelling then you should be just fine as the reason for being raised is to help dispel the swelling and discomfort.

Phew, that's a relief! I've been thinking I'd have to sleep downstairs in the reclining chair! x

Re: sleeping upright
I wouldn't have been able to get out of bed If I'd lay flat for that first week. Once I was down I needed help to get up. lol

Re: sleeping upright
I'm still sleeping slightly raised as I gave lying completely flat on my back a go last week but it's still uncomfortable and just doesn't feel quite right to me yet.I also tried lying on my side but quickly gave that up!
Think i'm just loving sleeping against my V pillow slightly raised for now! x x

Re: sleeping upright
I was advised to sleep propped up with cushions for 48 hours after that I was fine on my back.
