Hiya Jenny, as Georgie says it is down to a surgeons preference. I was an overnight stay and had drains, but when chatting to the nurse she told me that it depends which surgeon you get whether you have them or not.

like all the other girls have said, its down to what the surgeon prefers. i had them and came out next morning but i stayed in over night. im sure someone has had them in on daycase, on site and went back in morning to have them removed. nothing to be worrried about anyway hun xxx

Re: drains with a daycase
I was told I would have drains and that if I don't want to stay overnight they will be easily removed late evening.
