Help - surgeon recommendation from overs unders
Hi girls
my breast called me today and have told me my surgeon has recommended I have partial unders instead of overs, initially I was told I could have either.
I am really disappointed as really wanted overs after doing my research and to be honest not really loving the thought of unders.
I am now going to see my surgeon in a month to discuss the situation. My breast have asked me if I wanna secure my date in march even though I'm not seeing him till feb.
What do u think I should do? Should I book my date so it's secure and then wait until feb when the decision is made on placement?
I really need your help! I feel really down about it after feeling so excited yesterday.

Re: Help - surgeon recommendation from overs unders
If you want that surgeon and feel that after discussing your options in your consultation in feb and you know you trust him enough to do overs unders or partials then I would pay your deposit. If you are unsure try booking a few other consultations. You do still have the bottom of the implant as you would with overs and only the top part is covered by the muscle. If he/she feels this will give you a better shape or more of a natural look you should consider it. I know it's difficult but try to be open minded. There are benefits to all placements. Good luck in your choice hun. It's a big step so if your not sure just wait. If you lose your prefered spot in march there's plenty of other chances. Don't rush into anything.
Re: Help - surgeon recommendation from overs unders
I'm sure there is a very valid reason for the placement change. Like misf1 has said, if you trust your surgeon you could always book that date but ask them if it's possible to change if you need to without charge. x

Re: Help - surgeon recommendation from overs unders
If your not totally happy with your PS's decison then I would go and see a few others and get a few opinions. If all of the surgeons you see suggest the same thing then it might be something to consider but if not and you would prefer overs then it might be worth going with someone else. I would speak to your current ps first though to hear they reasons for suggesting partial unders.
Good luck! xx

Re: Help - surgeon recommendation from overs unders
Thanks girls
I have emailed MYA last night to see if I can see another surgeon through them because I like them and their setup but was not that impressed with Dr Singh as lovely as he was.
At the moment I have one surgeon saying one placement and the other saying a different placement. My original surgeon has also contradicted some of things he said to me at my consult on the phone yesterday and this has worried me
Will let you know how I get on and I am hoping that MYA will come back with me today to let me know if I can see someone else.
I wont be booking my date and may cancel the holiday I have booked as I dont feel like I can book surgery until I have seen the My Breast surgeon face to face and then I may decide I dont want to go with him and potentially lose my deposit!
Lots of love

Re: Help - surgeon recommendation from overs unders
Some surgeons just generally have a preference for either unders or overs, I know mine does, he much prefers unders and that was what was suggested for me, even though I already had overs and plenty of breast tissue, in his opinion, you get a more natural look from unders, which I didn't argue, but at the same time, thought mine looked pretty natural...
Anyway, I said that as it was possible, I wanted after a lot of consideration to keep the implant over the muscle as this was the look 'I' liked, he agreed to do what I wanted even though he'd have preferred to give me unders.
If you have enough breast tissue you should be able to have overs, but if the reason you've been advised is because you don't then I wouldn't argue that as you'd end up with a very unflattering result babe and you don't want that. xxxx

Re: Help - surgeon recommendation from overs unders
Thanks for all your comments girls :-) mya did get back to me today (so pleased!) and I'm seeing dr chantarask (apologies not sure how to spell it!) in about three weeks and I'm really looking forward to it! As usual my PCC was really helpful and got back to me really quickly. Plus I'm glad I didn't book my date yesterday as I got told today that I now can't have that holiday after all!
Natalia u r right I do have enough breast tissue to start with but I'm worried that Singh said overs and my other surgeon said overs and then changed his mind! I need a third opinion and then I can definitely make my decision as I don't want unders but need to make sure that it's the right decision to have overs.

Re: Help - surgeon recommendation from overs unders
I also so Mr Singh for a consult and he said overs - 410s which was vastly different from Mr Hamilton who said partial unders - 325 - areola lift.
I went with SH and am really glad I did, I think a third opinion is a great idea, x

Good luck for your consultation with Mr Chantarasak (I had him). I hope you can decide on your placement afterwards. Sorry about them telling you that you can't have your holidays when you wanted them, hope you can sort out another time.
Re: Help - surgeon recommendation from overs unders
Getting piece of mind is the main thing for you at the moment. I'm sure you will be happy once you see Mr C in a few weeks x

Re: Help - surgeon recommendation from overs unders
Hi
I think it's a good idea to get a third opinion to put your mind at rest. I have partial unders and think I got a really natural result - they're pretty squishy and I can get a good cleavage in the right bra...my surgeon said overs on me would look fake and I would get rippling, and I think he was absolutely right as I had no breast tissue of my own. In the end you've just got to look at lots of pics and go with the surgeon you trust. Like someone already said, there are advantages and disadvantages of both placements and you've just got to weigh them up.
Good luck!
