Re: Strapping off......... I feel like crying!
Glad he was so helpful and I hope they settle without the need for further surgery, but as you said better to have it if needed rather than be unhappy. Have fun bra shopping hun.
Re: Strapping off......... I feel like crying!
Oh that's wonderful news hun and get you in Wonderbras already! I bet it feels like a weight lifted from your shoulders and sounds like you have such a caring/understanding ps. I told mine I wasn't happy with the size. She said she would do a re op for free but I'd have to pay for new implants and hospital fees (so aprox £3000 which I can't afford).
Hope everything settles/changes for you in the coming months hun and you don't have to actually go in again and have a fab time at your party.....you'll look gorgeous xxxx

Good news hey chick, as I said I was exactly the same as my right implant was placed differently and looked really odd at first but it's now dropped and settled well so fingers crossed yours will too xxx

Re: Strapping off......... I feel like crying!
Thanks everyone.
The news gets better, just been and got my new Wonder Bra and I measure a 32F! Omg, they really don't look that big though! I have to say it is suprisingly sooo comfortable too - I don't know if that's partly because I was wearing a 34DD sport bra which is clearly the wrong size.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed I don't need more surgery but it's good knowing either way it will get sorted. So here to enjoying xmas.
Good luck Katyox! Hope you end up more even than I am at the moment!

Re: Strapping off......... I feel like crying!
Hiya Jo hunny, i read your post and firstly just wanted to say like all the others have said that give it time, you r sooo early days and the change over time is sooo dramatic, they will settle down so much. Then i realised that i had the same surgeon as u too, i had mine in middlesbrough through vive with Mr Hodgkinson. I remember when i got my first strappings off and i posted exaclty the same as you,i couldnt stop crying, it was such a shock at first and they looked sooo wonky, one had dropped and the other was soo high. It was horrible, i just wanted em to be perfect.
Hang on in there lovely, and im sure they will settle beautifully, he is a really good surgeon and knows what he is doing.

Re: Strapping off......... I feel like crying!
Awww Jo, the December girls will tell you only too well that I'm going through erm 'issues' with my new boobies... But it's only been a week (tomorrow) since my BA, I know I just have to chill out. But not to see them for 2 weeks after the BA and then feel like this, I really can't comprehend how you felt hun.
It's good that you've seen you PS and I hope 'if' a re-op is on the cards then you will get it free with no hidden costs... Fingers crossed for you petal xo

Re: Strapping off......... I feel like crying!
Update: I wasn't sure whether to continue with this post or start a new one, I decided to continue the story here.
Anyway for all it's been 10 weeks since I had my BA (8 weeks since the strapping came off) and unlike others my boobs haven't really changed that much at all.
So I went back to see PS and he initially said the same as before that he thinks the right implant needs to be dropped by 3mm to give the lift to the natural tissue.
However, I don't really agree because it is totally different. The nipple is lower (if you drew a straight line accross it must be 1/2cm lower) and because of the different projection the nipple is also pointing straight ahead rather than 'up' like the left (the left just looks perfect, the right looks flat).
So I said to PS I think I would rather just have the right implant replaced so that it has the exact same implant as the one in the left (which is a bigger size and a fuller profile). My reasoning being that I didn't really think that there was that much of a difference before and I was quite happy to live with what small difference there was. However, he recommended the different sized impant and said although they may not be exact they would be nearer than they were before the op. Which just isn't the case, they are now totally different shape and size much worst than pre op.
Also, with already having one op and having to have a second, I don't want to end up having to have a 3rd if it's still not right (and I can't see that just dropping it down would fix the problem). It all holidays/unpaid leave from work, and the inconvience. He said he agreed with what I was saying.
He then said that because I'd be changing the implant I may need to pay for the new implant!! Which I'm NOT happy with. They look worse than before and I only went for the different sizes because I was following his advice to bring them closer! It would be about £370 which may not sound a lot but after already paying £4k I would not be happy if I have to pay this.
They said that they would be in touch, but I will argue with them if they think they're going to try and get me to pay more.
Does anyone know if this would be normal to charge, because I haven't got what I believed I paid for. (I'll let you know when I hear from them).

Re: Strapping off......... I feel like crying!
Hi hun
Just read through your story. I would definately fight to get it for free. There is clearly a problem and they should do what is needed to correct it. Whether it be a new implant or not. They have not turned out like the surgeon expected therefore you deserve to be fixed.
Keep us up to date x

I'm also in agreement, it was your PS's mistake so he should cover the costs. I would also chase them if you don't hear anything quickly, I think a weekly phone call would be in order

Sorry to hear you're still not happy, I agree that it's your ps who should pick up the bill as it's his error!

Just thought maybe if you asked JM the resident surgeon his opinion he might take a look at your pics and that might give you a different perpective on it too.

Re: Strapping off......... I feel like crying!
Now all sorted.
I'm having my re-op on 12 March (only 4 weeks - whoop!)
They've agreed that I can have the bigger implant to match my left, and best of all, I'm not getting charged for it.
I can certaintly say, because you do worry about problems after the op, that Vive have been absolutley great.
Lets just hope the 12th of March will be the end of it all!
Thanks for the support!
