Ouch. I feel so sore and can't stop crying!
Oof, I feel so sore today. I'm 3 days post op now and I decided today that I should get out of my pjs, get dressed and try to do a few more normal things. My mum has been round to wash and straighten my hair and I've been for a walk but I feel unbelievably sore now. I feel like I can't breathe deeply without wincing and every move I make makes me whimper. Feel so pathetic!! Sorry, just having a moan. Can't wait to feel normal again! Xx

Awww c'mere hun
Don't compare 'your' recovery to that of anyone else's babe. Just take how you feel one day at a time. You're aching and sore because you've done too much today. Just a hair wash alone is enough to exhaust someone early post-op so for you to be getting up, dressed and out for a walk too - well that's just tipped you over the edge H and day 3 is generally always the worst when most of the swelling kicks in babe so you couldn't have picked a worse day to do everything all at once.
Make sure you get plenty of rest. Ice packs will help with the pain (not near incisions though) and don't be shy of taking pain killers if you feel you need them. Use your upper body as little as possible, so aside from lifting your cuppa, do nothing lol. It will feel better soon but do listen to your body, it's always the best judge of what you're capable of and right now, just slow and steady sweetie. You'll get there soon enough, it just takes a little more time for some. Xx

It's good to moan hun, makes you feel better. Just rest, and as cookie said listen to your body. You'll soon be healed and having a normal life again. Not boob related but when I had my arm op I couldn't do most things like driving and gym for 6 weeks, even washing my hair and body was a nightmare, had to wear a black bin liner on my arm lol. X x

Thanks so much girls. Yeah you're right I definitely overdid it. And I thought I was keeping it relatively light, little did I know how little would exhaust me! Tomorrow hubby to be is hoping to whisk us away to his parents for a few days of proper rest and relaxation. I think it will be good for me as at least I won't be watching the house get messy etc but I'm absolutely dreading the 2hr journey :/ I just hope they don't mind me in my pjs and a little tearful too. Think my soon to be father in law will just panic if I cry haha!! Still, will be good to have an extra pair of hands with my little one and be able to steal away for a few hours whenever I need to just sleep or lie down :) xx

Aw hun. Around now is the worst emotionally too, all the GA is leaving your system and messing with your hormones, so it can make you super emotional. But the good news is this is the worst of it, and most girls have a turn around day 5 or so. Have a good cry, let it out, be pandered over and try and get some sleep. It'll get better

Hi, for the first 5 days I did nothing. Sat there and at the most walked around the house. You really must take it more easy. I think sometimes we are too hard on ourselves. It's a big thing to go through. It will get better. I'm day 7 and my tightness is getting g easier. Sending big hugs your way xxx

Re: Ouch. I feel so sore and can't stop crying!
It does get a whole lot better after the 1st week so hang on in there!
No matter how much you prepare for your op you never know how your body is going to react to having had GA & any pain discomfort etc... add not being able to get a good sleep or do very much for the first few days it can knock you for six.
After the 1st week has passed you should start to turn the corner and start feeling a little better with each day that passes, so focus on the next week & in the meantime relax & let others look after you. XXX

Re: Ouch. I feel so sore and can't stop crying!
Hi girls :) well I'm dressed and trying to take things easy. I still feel so unbelievably tender as soon as I even go near my boobs and my chest muscles keep going into spasm if I strain them too much which flipping hurts! I've done a lot of reading on the forum to know that this is normal but it doesn't stop it hurting. I'm not quite as emotional as I was but not 100% out of it either. We're at my in laws at the moment so that they can help with my toddler and it's breaking my heart that I can't cuddle him or pick him up. I'm just watching him run his grandparents ragged and that's hard to watch. Pain wise I'm much the same, just hoping that it'll settle a little more in the next few days. Sorry, don't want you to think all I do is moan but I know I can be honest with you guys and not have to pretend all is fine all the time!! Xx

Re: Ouch. I feel so sore and can't stop crying!
Don't be silly we've all felt like that through our recovery I'm sure! It definitely sounds like things are starting to improve so fingers crossed and take it easy. It's so hard for us mums as I think we feel guilty about anything at all we do for ourselves, especially if we feel it has an impact on our little ones. Rest assured i'm sure they haven't noticed a thing and probably love being spoilt by the grandparents. And even if they are aware, very quickly when all is back to normal it will be long forgotten for them.

Yeah I'm sure you're right mammamia thankyou :) I'm finding it very difficult as I can't cuddle him, or even dress him so feel as if we have no bond which is insanely ridiculous I know but it's amazing how much you depend on contact between mother and baby! One thing I'd like to know though is how long the tight chest will last? I feel like I can't clear a cough properly and that there is an elephant permanently on my chest atm! Xx

Ahhhh bless you hh, how your feeling is completely understandable and normal. My bubba is only 22 months and it killed me seeing her running to her dad all the time. The spasms! Just generally not being self sufficient. Promise it gets easier , chin up and keep talking to everyone on here xx

Re: Ouch. I feel so sore and can't stop crying!
Awww sweetie, there's no reason at all why you can't cuddle your toddler. Getting yourself comfy on the sofa with a pillow in front of your boobs and have someone lift your little one to you. Also if they're tired they can lay their little head in your lap as you stroke their hair to sleep.
You can also if you feel comfortable to in your in-laws make a little makeshift bed on the floor, with you using the back of the sofa or a chair for yourself to enable yourself to sleep propped up using the back of the sofa and so that both of you can sleep together if you wanted to and you'd know if they woke before you theyd come to no harms way because they can't fall off the floor lol.
Skin to skin contact between mother and baby is so important to us mums isn't it, so being a little inventive with your imagination you won't this if you don't want to
Ensure whilst you're still in so much pain that you're timing your pain killers to ensure you're always topped up to get the best from them too. And take full advantage of the rest you can get there lovely. My mother always used to say to me "your body heals whilst you're sleeping" and I beleive that, so if you're tired...be sure to sleep H. Xx

Re: Ouch. I feel so sore and can't stop crying!
I'm not sure how long the tight chest lasts as we're all different but I would try and concentrate on taking deep breaths as I imagine that will help to some degree and also ensure you don't end up with a chest infection! Enjoy the time off as us mummy's don't get it often and very soon it will all be back to normal again!
