havnt stop crying today dont know what to do!

Well as some of you may know from my previous post my loan application for my ba got accepted yesterday yay! ...

Contacted transform in my lunch break today as they were open,spoke to receptionist and paid my deposit of £250 over the phone and said to book may 29th which was written down on my transform paperwork as being available and thats the week my husband and i booked off work so he can look after daughter.

Then had missed phone calls from transform manager (couldnt answer as i was in work) and a message that i read after work saying the week my husband and i have both booked off work for surgery - may half term - for some reason the surgeon i want that i have researched into for months has now 'closed his diary' for that week. so of course then i was in floods of tears when i came home from work as my husbands a teacher so can only look after our daughter so i can have surgery during school holidays, my work only 1 person a time can be on annual leave from work and all holidays have been agreed and people have booked off so no other half terms etc are available for me to book all year, i specifically fought for having may half term booked off in work cos that was what the pcc said was available a few weeks ago...i try planinng everything months in advance and its still all gone to pot

im literally writing this in tears i dont know what to do guys xx

Have you ask if they can give you first option on a cancellation that week? Would you consider another surgeon or hospital? I really feel for you, I work in a school and had to tie in with school hols and another op I needed. If anything had altered I don't know what I would have done!

When i got home she'd also emailed me saying for reasons unknown to her he has blocked may half term out of his diary completely so can take no bookings - maybe hes going on holiday. so its not a other people cancelling ops situation by the sounds of it. I have seen other surgeons but i really like this one and have read up so much on him, maybe i will have to research more surgeons and start the process again from scratch xx

Where in Wales r u? Been chatting to someone on here who is having my surgeon in Swansea, just as another potential option. Have u got any other childcare options for another week? Xx

I am trying to contact friends and family as a last resort to see if they can look after my daughter for 2 days but how successful its going to be is another matter so far, then ill just have to pull a sicky with work for a few days and say i have the flu or something if they wont swap my annual leave. I live in Cardiff so swansea is actually really close! thanks for the info xx

You have a cooling off period lovely so don't feel forced to have to choose another surgeon from Transform. You'll be able to get your deposit back and go elsewhere if there's a surgeon somewhere else you'd prefer.

It may also be worth checking to see if your surgeon does work elsewhere too, because he may not be working for Transform that week but he may be working somewhere else...

So sorry to hear about this, I know how hard it is when you have little ones to juggle about and work etc.
I second looking in to another surgeon. I was all set on the first one my coordinator told me about but inthe end I was over the moon with who Ihad whenthe first choice was unavailable. Could you ask them who would be available and see if there are any reviews online?

I know this is a very upsetting time, maybe you could stay with your chosen surgeon but postpone the op until July at the start of the school holidays? Cancel your week off in May and move it to July. I know it means waiting 2 more months, but they would fly by.
