Day 5, what a week of ups and downs!
Well after a day of feeling really "up" on Tuesday, the day after surgery, I felt OK on Wednesday, then Thursday was a real low. Sick of feeling useless, not being able to lift anything, feeling knackered and fuzzy headed.... generally rubbish.
I haven't had a lot of pain, and decided to stop taking the strong painkillers (celebrex). Had last one Thursday morning. On Thursday night I kept waking up, not in pain, just wide awake! So I concluded the pills had been making me sleepy!
Friday was much much better - my brain felt more in gear, and I started to feel I could do a bit more.
Today I am still being careful with lifting things, but have picked my baby up a few times. Nothing hurts, and I'm not carrying him far... surely this is OK?!?! Don't think I'll be picking my toddler up for a few more days though!
Still well chuffed with my boobs, they are dropping and softening nicely already, and hubby is over the moon too which makes it all worth it!!

I would think as long as it feels comfortable and you aren't straining when lifting you will be ok to pick the baby up. Glad you are healing well.
