Hi ladies. Just wondered when you managed to be able to do housework/ironing etc. I'm only a week post op but hubby had done everything and gone to work, bless him. I feel so guilty sat here!!! Don't think I can push a hoover but do you think I'll be able to do a bit of dusting? And what about ironing??? Also did any of you do any light exercises at this stage?? Sorry, I just feel so darn lazy!!! Don't want to be fat for Xmas!

Thanks girls, love Tara x

Stop it, stop it, stop it!!

You must relax, I know it makes you feel like a total fraud sitting around on yer bum but you really do need to rest up.

I was stupid enough to pop along to our local shop for some milk the day after I came home and they ended up having to get me a chair because I'd gone dizzy, felt sick, I was overheating and could barely stand up.

You really should stay put as long as you can
There rant over now 👅

Its best to take it easy for the first week or 2. They advise no phycical activity for the first 6weeks so things like hoovering will have to wait. xx

Oh dear hun, hope you're ok now! I have swept the floor (laminated) evey day since my op. I can reach up to cupboards (just about), walked to pre school n back (twice over one day!) and have fetched a few things from the supermarket (don't worry I didn't drive!).

Seems like I'm doing too much too early! But I feel soooo lazy and soooo guilty cos I feel fine apart from slightly sore boobies!!

Will relax this afternoon then!

Love Tara x

I hoovered for the first time yesterday and managed the ironing last week but dh was doing everything prior to that.

Relax and make the most of it, I think my first week post op was the first time in 4 years that I've spent a couple of days in bed, x

Like the girls said above Tara, you must take it easy, I too felt lazy/guilty/fat !!!!!!!! Housework etc.. 557141 at least two weeks before simple chores can resume, you will 'feel' whats ok any tugging/pulling/twinges and whaterver the chore, be it dusting or sweeping, if you feel that then STOP IT!!

xxxxxxxxxx

ps...... dont even attempt to change bed sheets either!! heaven!! get the oh to do it!! lol

Take it easy. If you can get away with not doing things, then I would take advantage of that, I probably did too much, and wore myself out. During the first 2 weeks I'd try to rest as much as you can, so in a weeks time maybe start with some very light dusting and see how you go xxx

Thanks ladies. Well today hubby and I went to see my ps. Afterwards we did some Xmas shopping and now I am in bed at 8pm as I am totally shattered and my boobs are soooooo sore! I think that tells me something! Yesterday I was putting new curtains up in my daughter's room!!

Well, no more! Tomorrow, hubby is not working so is instead cleaning the house from top to bottom and taking my daughter to pre school and fetching her. He even said I could stay in bed all morning!!!!

So, I will really really try to rest!
