From my hospital bed POST BA :-)

Helloooooo ! Well one very excited mad woman here. Have had my op and all is well... ah, ok, well there is a fair bit of pain, but really its discomfort and is ok as long as i dont try and do anything. There is free wireless internet at Spire, so im very glad i brought my laptop!! I will write up a story when there is a full story to write but for new the hot topic is Morphine makes you itch... fact !! GA has made me light headed (I feel very pis*ed !!) and the funky anti-DVT thingies on my legs are wonderful !!

Ah ok, so you wannt know about boobs.... hmmm, ok. Well this might be a little early to have any sort of comment, but they are done! Left one looks amazing from what i cant see (squished into 34C sports bra) however, right one is pointing off to the side which I am a bit concerned about. Maybe its to do with swelling, the bra only being light support etc - dunno, by my right nipple is def not where it was pre op :-( ...but hey, im 7 hours post op, whaddo I know!?

I am trying not to worry. I have a cannula in my left hand and keep forgetting so keep getting a sharp ***naughty word*** in the back of my hand. I have been fed and watered suitably, and my Mum has phoned me and spent AGES chatting to me. It seems if she was 10yrs younger should would have a BA too!! How nice to hear that when I really thought she might freak at me having this done.

I need a wee (thought i'd share ;-) ) but when I went the first time (nurse came too!) I did feel VERY sick and even more drunk, so im not looking forward to gathering up my little blood bank bottles (yes, have got 2 drains in) and hobbling to the loo!

Anyway, just wanted to say hello *waves* and let you know I did wake up !!

Ahhh, congrats hun - so pleased for you. Yeah the morphine itching is horrendous - I had it all over my face, couldn't stop itching my nose and mouth! Glad you have had a nice day hun and that you're all excited.

Well the pain is interesting because its ache rather than sharp pain. If I can liken it to anything its how my boobs would normally go all tender at time of the month - magnified 10 times !! initially i couldnt flush the loo because pressing down would hurt too much. Remember tho I had unders - so the muscle has been separated from breast tissue in order to create a pocket for the implant, and disguise the top ridge...

Have had Morphine 10mg in theatre, then a heavy duty intravenus paracetemol, and since then have had 4 paracetemol and 2 other tabs which i think were anti inflamatory - oh and some green and white capsules (Tramamine?? cant remember!)... so all in all, pain relief under control, but i really do know when its time for some more!

Congrats, Michas, on our new boobs, and it was great hearing from you straight afterwards on your laptop! Talk about hot off the press! Glad all went well and you feel pleased with the size of your boobs. (I had about the same size of implant and was the same size as you pre-op.)
