noone told me that i shud avoid eating garlic before my op ! is this true??

my BA is next friday should i avoid eating garlic from now till then? garlic 294672

I think garlic is a blood thinner so that might be why. I wouldn't worry too much as you would probably need to eat loads of pure garlic to get the blood thinning effect but I wouldn't eat any more from now on xx

I was told to stop eating garlic 2 days before my op as it thins the blood. I didn't eat it for a few days afterwards just in case.

Yes, you're right! Transform advise in their patient information leaflet not to eat garlic 48 hours before surgery. xx

I didn't know this but it sounds about right. Think its a tad over cautious tho. I was told to avoid ibruprofen for 2 weeks before but that was about it.
