i think lying about something could gte you into trouble!

Think you should maybe approach just one manager you feel will be discrete and tell them the truth.

hope u feel better soon xxx

You dont need to tell them if you dont want to hun I didnt and still havnt told anyone at my job I had a ba cos its none of their business. I'm sure if you went to your GP they could write you a note to give to your employer although I doubt very much they would lie on it. Could you say you've been run down with the flu as there is alot of it about. xx

I said that I had hurt my back and then was put onto light duties when I got back to work. Although my line mananger did know.
However, that backfired on me as I really did hurt my back and neck a few weeks later, which is still hurting now so I suppose that's what I get for lying!!!

HI Gemma, any consolation I haven't told anyone either, my other half knows and one best friend (who has been best friend for thirty years,,,, so think I can trust her), do what you feel is best, I have one friend who had ba and she told the world herself before she even had consulation, we all laugh about it, but I could't tell a sole! and I def have not told this friend who had it done! slipped disc is ok, but make sure you research it on internet, someone may question you and you need to know the facts, plus you would prob be on anti-inflammatory & pain killers if you did have slipped disc, so that could work well if you're still taking any. good luck, hope all turns out well for you.

I understand why you don't want anyone at work to know and there's no reason why you should tell them something so private. I was ok as my job didn't involve any lifting etc, so just under 2 weeks off was fine, but it's still early to be lifting as I remember still feeling a bit wobbly then. I don't know if doctors will lie for you but it's worth a try as they have a duty of care towards you and overdoing it won't do you any good atall. You could just say you must have slept funny and your back is stiff and tight...?

I pretended I had the flu to get a couple days off before half term...I felt awful for lying and was petrified that I would get the flu for real the next week or something, but luckily it was ok and nothing was ever mentioned!

Good luck
