Just tell you need time off to plan something :) I'm only working with 2 blokes and said I may go away for my bday, which is the week of my BA and booked a week off work...Neither of them know what I'm having done...

Re: what will i tell work
Personally, I pulled my boss into a room and explained I'm having some elective surgery done, I want to take 1wk holiday and 2wks working from home. He said ok, no further asked! But I work for the other fruity smartphone, so big corporations, no ones knows peoples business. Plus (I think) no one has noticed.
Its up to you how much or how little you want to tell them. Are you taking holiday or sick leave? If its holiday, you don't need to tell them anything, just that you need to be on light duties when you come back. If you're trying to take sick leave, you might need a note from your GP, but you can ask them to put general surgery. You don't need to specify anything.

You've hurt your back. Simple. A lot of people use the bad back as it explains all, lifting, moving, pain etc.
Elective surgery just means you've chosen/elected to do it, rather than it being necessary for your health.

Hi
as its holidays no need to tell anyone anything if you don't want to and as Charli has said a sore back once you return to work should suffice to get light duties for a week or two.

Hi Mirren,
Ive discussed with one of my colleagues and she said dont worry about it , shes been with he company for ages now.. she said i dont have to tell them why , if they do just say i fancy a week off. its entirely up to me. Suggested i started wearing bigger bras up untill my Op so they wont notice a thing lmao!!
all i do anyway is sit at a desk, im a finance admin so i should be okay after 10 days off hopefully

Re: what will i tell work
This is a question that pops up quite regularly on here.
Babe, if you feel comfortable telling people then tell them if they ask. If you feel embarrassed then you're not obliged to tell anyone and it's completely your right to keep it to yourself.
I'm guessing you normally wear padded bras that make you appear bigger than you are now? Well after your op you'll only be able to wear sports bras and to be honest your boobs won't appear much bigger in sports bras than what they do in padded bras now. People probably won't even notice unless you tell them!! It's so easy to disguise your boobs post-op by wearing high cut tops, scarfs, big coats etc..
If you feel proud that you've had a boob job, and don't mind people knowing, then I say you should go ahead and tell people! :) I felt very proud of my BA and I told lots of people because I was so happy and exhilarated about the whole thing haha!!
It's completely your decision, babe. Tell those that you want to tell :)
Take care, babe xxxxx
