Work? Empty Work?

Post by Blackrose87 17th May 2011, 1:59 pm

Hi girls me again!!

I work as a carer so I have to do a bit of moving and handling which after my BA I wouldn't be able to do for a good few weeks. I really don't know what I should tell my work to be honest! Should I just tell them I am going in for a op and that I would need to be on light duties for a wee while?, but then surely my work would be able to tell I have had my boobs done?

I would be able to take two weeks holidays but I am not allowed to take more than that at the one time?

I work for the N.H.S and told my boss about my op,as it would effect what I was able to do at work,he then told me I was entitled to 2 weeks sick pay, even though I was choosing to have surgery!so I had 2 weeks off and am now on 2 weeks holiday that I booked.Might be worth chatting to your boss x

Definitely chat to your boss.

I had to tell my boss and he is being great about it, I only have to take one week as holiday and the other week he has said I can work from home, I'm and EA so can't really do my job from home so know he is being nice :0) x

Thank you girls for you replies :flowers:

That has made me feel alot better that your bosses were quite understanding! When the time comes I will go and have a talk to my boss.

I just hope they keep it to them selves!
When I was pregnant I went in and told my boss, told him I didn't want anyone else to know until I was 12 weeks and he blabbed it to everyone so when I came in the next day everyone was talking about it ( because I was 18 at the time it was huge gossip apparently Rolling Eyes )
