Re: appointment with nurse
this is your pre op check ruth hunny, it will take about half hour to an hour.
it's mostly paperwork, her asking you about all your health history and your familes too etc, she will weigh you and measure your height too.
most probably you will have swabs done for mrsa and get your npaperwork and that's about it hun.
nothing to worry about, it's getting closer for you now hunny yay.
exciting times ahead

well they took one s from my throat, nostrils, armpits and groin.
they only take a second though and it just tickles a bit.
nothing to worry you hun and you might not be in as long as that.
it depends how much of a chat you like to have too lol.
good luck hunny.

Re: appointment with nurse
Well I didn't have a pre-op, but what angelkitten says seems about right. They'll probably check your blood pressure too x

Re: appointment with nurse
Hi hun, in my pre-op I also had 'before' photos taken. Lovely!
And they also took some blood, when I asked them they said it was to check levels of iron, potassium etc. I'd had a cup of sweet coffee and a cake before my pre-op so if they checked sugar mine must have been sky-high..half expected them to call me up and tell me I might have diabetes!
It's fine though, nothing to worry about xxx

Re: appointment with nurse
Hi Ruth!!
Not much help as I did not have a pre-op appointment as such, all these things the other girls have said were done by my P.S. in consultation. It really is just to check you are healthy for the op.
Another part of your journey ticked off!!.....not long for your special day now!!! xx

Re: appointment with nurse
Mine took about half an hour, just went through my medical history and the nurse explained to me what I should and shouldnt do before my op and whether I had any questions or concerns.
She also took pictures of my chest and gave me written information about what to do to prepare for my op and also what to expect after with emergency contact numbers should anything happen after my op when I was at home.
Its a chat really hun. Wow not long to go chick
