Revision help! Anyone had a lift/areola revision?
Hi
Briefly, havn't been happy with my results since the procedure for various reasons.
Feel a bit lost as to what to do about it, my PS does not seem atall concerned which I'm not happy about!
Am now considering a revision on the side I had a lift as it is all stretched and out of shape..actually bigger than it was to begin with and it's meant to be smaller.
Are revisions charged at a normal price/free/discounted?? How does it work when it's their mistake? I have no idea what to expect, wasn't planning to be in this situation of course!
Would you trust your surgeon who got it wrong in the first place to correct it??
It is because the internal stitching has not been done enough so it has stretched! Also has a terrible scar...don't mind the scar if its the right size but its almost twice the size it is meant to be!!

Re: Revision help! Anyone had a lift/areola revision?
I think you should start with a second opinion. Maybe try and see a different BAAPS surgeon from a different clinic, and see what they have to say. In addition, write everything down. What you feel is wrong, how its making you feel, especially how your surgeon is making you feel by being dismissive.
With regards to a revision, it would depend. If you went with a different surgeon and clinic, it would be a new procedure and you'd have to pay full price. If you go with your current surgeon, it would depend on what you were covered for in your aftercare. If you feel they have not fulfilled their contract as a surgeon, and you have not received the outcome that you discussed, then tell them that. If they were meant to correct your asymmetry, and have made it worse, then absolutely they should be liable for it.
Its difficult, but you need to be firm with them. Keep going back, keep making them write it down, if its a clinic, ask for a different surgeons opinion. If you're not happy, dont let them dismiss you.

Re: Revision help! Anyone had a lift/areola revision?
I've booked in with CC Kat for a consultation, I plan to show her the results and explain the issues I am having.
Have also posted on realself and had a few opinions on there that have been very reassuring that the issues are actually issues!!
Here is the post if interested, my pics are on there too so you can see how bad it is!

Will book in with my surgeon asap after seeing cc kat and will have the issues written down so that they can not be shrugged off. Have also taken areola measurements!!

I'm so sorry you are having these issues - it must have been hard playing the waiting game hoping they would even out but it is very clear you need revision surgery and it is terrible you are being shrugged off.
You are doing the right thing to get a 2nd opinion before going back to see your surgeon - I would also perhaps show her the responses you got on real self.
I see my lovely surgeon (Marc Pacifico) also replied. It's a shame you are so far from him as he is very caring! I am also considering areola reduction in one side and nipple reduction on both but I'm waiting to see how things settle first as I'm only 6 weeks post op.
Good luck and keep us posted. Big hugs xxx

Re: Revision help! Anyone had a lift/areola revision?
Yeah its annoying because it is clear isnt it!!
Aw which clinic is your surgeon Marc based in? What did you have done with him?
Yes the areola reduction was great until it stretched...didnt take long for it to stretch either... now it is actually more round but I now realise that the inbetween stage when it was more long and well square looking! Must have been when the stitches down the side broke before the top and bottom ones broke.
It is so annoying because when I speak to her she says 'a little bit of stretching is always expected' however she only said this AFTER it has stretched...and if it is 'always' expected...then it should have been smaller then to account for what is always expected then...?!! Glad I can see the funny side but its so not funny really!!
Marcs answer was good, I will definitely be askign about the stitch type used :)
aaaahhhh!!!

All very well her saying stretching is to be expected but kind of should have accounted for that and not made you a promise to fix asymmetry if she was unsure she could achieve that. Admittedly problems do occur with even the most experienced surgeons work but you expect them to listen, hold up their hands and try to help counsel you through it and fix things!
Marc is based in tunbridge wells - he runs a private practice called purity bridge. I had 375 smooth round unders.
Did u have your implants over the muscle or under?
Xx

Re: Revision help! Anyone had a lift/areola revision?
Im going to be brutally honest here - If I was left looking like that at 8months, and told it was all fine, I would be fuming. Your right breast is very much higher than the left, and the scarring is not a good job. As for the areola...Im so sorry you're not being taken seriously.
Absolutely see Ms Kat, maybe if you can even record the consult. But I think your surgeon is disgraceful for not taking this seriously. I highly doubt that was your agreed upon outcome of the surgery.
Please keep us updated on how your consult goes.

Lucy mine were over the muscle there is a before pic on that real self site as well you can see I did have some boobage before but a cup n a bit size difference thanks to going on the pill and one decided to grow and the other one didnt :'(
I've just always been so ashamed...and now I still am but for different reasons I mean this scar is so horrendous and as I say if it wasn't stretched so big I would put up with it but it was actually better before.. I just don't feel confident talking about it it's so upsetting!!!
... but I've realised that doesn't mean I have to put up with it...right lady on a mission here will keep you posted thank you so much for your support I really needed it xox

Re: Revision help! Anyone had a lift/areola revision?
I have also just read through my consultation summary letter..which describes my left areola as 'slightly larger' than the right....well now it is hugely larger...
It also reads 'The addition of a mastopexy would leave a scar around the areola and allow me to reduce the size of the areola and elevate the nipple to match the right breast.'
And that obviously is not what happened...
So I have it in writing....!
