Areola Reduction During Lift? Empty Areola Reduction During Lift?

Post by pr1ncessmummy 17th June 2013, 10:16 am

Hi ladies,

I am booked in for an explant (PIP), full lift with BA, plus capsulectomy at the end of July and when the surgeon was explaining the procedure to me (with diagrams!) he said something along the lines of "and we make the areola smaller in size" and then continued talking - as if this was just what happens rather than has to be requested? Is this normal practice?

I aren't complaining, I was hoping for a bit of a reduction anyway but just thought it was odd that it became part of the procedure when a lot of ladies would like to keep their areola size?

Has anyone else experienced this?

Areola Reduction During Lift? Empty Re: Areola Reduction During Lift?

The surgeon used what I can only explain is like a round cookie cutter to draw the circular shape onto the areola in preparation for the lift. They dont use this to cut lol. Its just common practise babe and nothing to worry about. You won't have tiny areolas or anything, they're just a nice size on the breast. Xx

Lol I have heard about this cookie cutter and thought it must be quite strange to use during the surgery haha. Didn't realise it was just used to draw as a guide! Lol. Thank you for that Smike.
