Micropore tape over incisions

Hi ladies

I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas!!!

I am no longer really in pain except from my boobs feel painful and tender to touch but I assume that's normal!? 

My follow up appointment with my surgeon has been scheduled for 10th Feb which is 8 weeks post op. Further away than I thought but I'm glad as I feel that there wouldn't be much he could say 4 weeks post op! However I was of the view that the special stabilising and positioning bra I wear was to be for 4 weeks only but should I stop wearing it before I see the surgeon!? (By the way o really recommend this bra by Eurosurgical it is brilliant)

I have been changing my micropore tape over my incisions every 3 days since my wound check and bandages were taken off one week post op but I realised today that I have no idea how long I am meant to keep this up for!! I can give the hospital a call to check but I was just wondering whether there is a standard time you are meant to do it!?

There's no standard time, all aftercare is tailored specifically to you. Mine was only 2wks with the micropore, but 8wks full support. Best thing to do is give them a call and find out exactly what the instructions are for you.

Every surgeon will have different advice! Mine has asked me to wear the tape for three months to help minimise scarring, and change the tape as little as possible so I don't disturb the healing tissue unnecessarily.
