Ahhhh..my nipple's on fire...
Ladies, I know this is not unusual but it's starting to drive me a bit crazy.
My nipples are so hyper-sensitive that I can't have the shower directed on them, the fabric in my bras is rubbing and annoying them, and when it's cold it's like torture. Looking at them, they look totally normal but they're so sore!
I've been putting cocoa butter on my breasts anyway and to see if it will help and act as a sort of lubricant with my bra-fabric. I even bought silicone nipple shields but when it came to peeling them off it was agony and I worry about them staying in a warm/moist environment with "no air". Having to wear a bra 24/7 is probably my main problem but unavoidable right now.
Please...does anyone have any tips or tricks to get through this period?!

This was one of the worst things, like sunburnt tits! Then you look down and they look fine! I remember the pain well, and I had to recover braless so any movement made my t shirt move and sting.
Maybe try round cotton wool pads In your bra ...I did this once I was in the belvia bra, it helped, but it's just an unavoidable part of recovery I think hun!
Your avi looks lovely btw

I had this and still do sometimes. I put vasaline on mine but sometimes it was stuck to the bra. I too couldn't direct the shower at them ouch!!! They do get better with time but it sure is uncomfortable xx

My ps has warned me that this will probably happen and he said the worse thing u can do is avoid touching them. Apparently you have to keep touching them as it will desensitise them quicker. So tweak away if u can bear it!! Xx

Re: Ahhhh..my nipple's on fire...
This is a breast feeding trick but may help, buy a round cabbage, put it in freezer just to chill it the peel off a leaf for each boob and cover your boob. I had mastitis which turned into an abscess, also my nipples were very split and sore. The cabbage leaves were a great relief. You could try breast feeding pads if the cotton wool pads aren't soft enough xx

Going to try the cotton pads for this evening and will be buying a cabbage tomorrow [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]!
I'm going to have to psyche myself up for the nipple tweaking [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]!
Thanks everyone, I knew you'd have some tricks up your sleeves!

Yes massaging helps de-sensitize them, but, hurts! At first anyway!

Cold compress/cabbage leaves will help, but thats a short term relief. I'll be honest, at 3wks, you've got a long way to go with your nips, and they could swing weekly beween on fire and numb. Best thing to do is to rub them! Any moisturiser you have to hand, just give them a circular rub every evening for a couple minutes, or as long as you can bear it. Obviously keep the creams well away from your incisions. But this will help more in the long run.

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] they're similar really.
But I am thinking of them differently and have stopped treating them so respectfully (well you know what I mean!) and am being more normal/rougher with them. Yes, I tweaked lol. It wasn't that bad! Haven't had a chance to try the cabbage leaf yet!
Hope your zingers are settling. They're so unpredictable!
