omg I am in so much pain. I'm taking codeine and paracetamol and it's just not touching it. Have just spoken to doctor and he said start taking naproxen (which I have for disc pain), also writing a script for tramadol. I went to sleep with 5-6 pillows underneath me whilst I sat up. I've never been so yuck and actually fell asleep in the sitting position. I take my bra off once a day and think "omg look at me, it's all done" :)

What did u take for pain relief and how did u sleep in the first few hours/days are surgery. Sorry but I don't mean to sound like a baby but they are just so hard and painful nope

You don't need so many pillows, you just need to have your shoulders above your heart to help with the swelling. I actually spent the first few days with a travel pillow round my neck so I could just fall asleep wherever I was!

Try taking the coedine and paracetamol intermitantly, so the other one every 2hrs. Ice packs across the tops of the breast, nowhere near the incisions, will help with the pain too.

You can do this! Day 3-5 is going to be the worst as the GA leaves your system, you'll be sore and hormonal, and this is all perfectly normal. Just try and get as much rest and sleep as you can.

Unfortunately this is the worse part :( Just know that it does get SO much better, it's just a little bit up a an uphill slog to get to that place! I was given pain relief, antibiotics plus this syrup at night which I think was some kind of morphine. I cant remember the name but apparently my grandad was also given it when going through Chemo so it's strong stuff!
It was amazing, literally knocks you out just before bed.

Hope you're ok, stay strong and just keep well rested. Try a few little walks throughout the day and eat plenty of veg and vitamins xx

Hi can I just ask if taking naproxen was advice from your surgeon or GP ? Naproxen in an anti inflammatory. And will thin the blood. I would only take that if the surgeon says you can. Just a thought. I hope you get relief soon. Your at the worst bit now. It will calm down xxx
