When did you start wearing underwires?
As in the title really. I've got my 3 month appointment coming up and I've bought a few underwired bras ready to wear when they're comfortable, but they just aren't yet! I've been wearing an unwired bra from Victoria's Secret which is giving me far better support than a sports bra without being uncomfortable, but if I wear underwires for longer than about an hour, I can feel it in my boobs.
It's like around the cleavage, it's sort of burning (not the right word, but I can't think of a better one really), like they're being pushed in the wrong direction.
I'm obviously going to ask my surgeon about it, but I just wondered when most of you felt comfortable in wires, if at all?
On a related note - bras look fecking AMAZING now! I've never been able to wear anything other than a moulded cup / padded bra, but I bought a beautiful sheer & lace set and I feel like a supermodel in them, it has to be said! Yay for boobies

Re: When did you start wearing underwires?
It takes a while to 'break in' to underwire. I started wearing them to work at 3m, and they were fine for me, but others find they really have to wait and build up time before they're comfy in them. It could be they're taking a little longer to soften. Give it more time and they'll be ok.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], you need to be careful with that. You won't be allowed in a pool for 3m post op, and if you need to be in your sports bra 24/7 then you need to stick to it. Any hint that you've not stuck with your post op instructions, they will invalidate your aftercare in an instant

Re: When did you start wearing underwires?
My surgeon said I can wear wires as of now, and I'm 8 weeks Sunday, but in the enter brochure that I got for mentor implants, I'm sure it said 12 weeks as they can indent the implant while its still settling or something?
So im a little cautious. I wear the genie, belvia or just a crop top most days.
Not worn a proper bra, wired or otherwise since before ,my op.
Hooray for boobs though I agree, love my new shape, and your avi is blooming gorgeous [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] I'm pre BA so have no advice about bras, but looking at your stats we sound very similar! (Height, dress size and bra size) so it's interesting to know 350cc put you up to a DD! I played with some 350's at my first appointment and they didn't seem all that big, but now I won't discount them. Your avi looks amazing, I'd be thrilled with the same outcome!

Re: When did you start wearing underwires?
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], Mine was the same. Surgeon said 8wks, but the clinics general advice was 12. Had a bit of a barney with my nurse about it! We settled on 8wks for a night out, but 12 for full time.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.], you'd be surprised how many women go "but i dont look a DD/E/F etc". Its all to do with perception. Which often the media have skewed. In the papers, anyone with 'regular' boobs is a C, large is a DD, and extra large is a FF, regardless of proportion or band size. So when you see the media calling say, Khloe K a 36C, its so it fits with their idea of average. Shes more likely a 32DD/E. My 340s took me from 32AA to E.

Re: When did you start wearing underwires?
I started wearing wires at 3 months. I think I was being overly cautious and was telling myself 'Oh i'll just wear them for a few hours a day and break myself in', but that pretty much went out the window!
Go to bravissimo and get properly fitted into a plain, comfy every day bra. You'll probably find you can wear this all day without problems.
I then have some cheapie bra's that are sexier but don't fit AS snug (mainly cos places like Ann Summers dont do 30 backs) which I can wear for a few hours before I start to get a bit uncomfortable.
All you can do is listen to your body. One thing I do recommend is a soft yoga style crop top bra for night. I love sleeping in mine as you feel supported yet so comfy. Mine was like £5 from primark too! c

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] yes, I'm noticing that from being on this site! The avi's I've been looking at enviously always end up being F's or something I'd have thought was far too large, but they just look lovely and in proportion, which is all I'm asking for!

Re: When did you start wearing underwires?
Oh my gosh you guys I'm so sorry for my rude silence for so many months. Thank you very much for all your replies @contemputuous , [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] , [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] , [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
It turns out, the underwired bras I was trying I can't do, even 9 months later. Apparently my new boobs have expensive taste and will only be happy in £40 Victoria's Secret bras I've been wearing them regularly since about 4 months post op and they're fine, but literally any other brand that I've tried (the cheaper the bra the worse it gets) and my underboob becomes very sensitive.
And [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] we do sound similar! Honestly I was surprised. I was an 'empty' B cup if that makes sense (they fit loosely into one but it was like stretching out a water balloon and then emptying most of the water out of it - the skin was stretched out but there was very little volume) and now they're full. Not completely full - they still look like natural breasts because they hang a little and they're not totally inflated, but just exactly what I was after really!
Yours look fab in your avi :D Are you happy?
