On a MAJOR downer Empty On a MAJOR downer

Post by Twinky 3rd June 2015, 4:38 pm

Hey guys, hope all you lovely gals are well. Iv been on hol for a wk but gona catch up with all the posts in a second. Anyway,  am feeling mega stressed. Think I may have to cancel my surgery for another date.
While we were on holiday our house has sold, and while im happy,  im also stressed now as the guy is wanting to get moving and we haven't even found anywhere yet.
we live in a big house, have 3 kids so loads of stuff, 3 sheds and I just cant see how in 6weeks im going to be fit enough to move as my ops in 11 days?
my hubby is feeling bad so keeps saying he will do it all..but I know thats jst cos he feels bad at the thought of me cancelling. How can 1person pacl for all of us, its impossible.  But then I am so desperate for thks sjrgery I have waoted so bloomin long for, I keep thinkin, maybe I will be ok. And his bro is coming cor all the heavy labour anyway.
But I just feel torn..I guess the sensible thing wud b to wait but have geared myself up for this..then hubby wanted to sell and we sold in like 11 days!
Iv not even spoken to my surgeon yet and im guessing there will be a fee as well.
what do you all think?

Feel mega sad now....so nr and I just knew something would go wrong nope

Unlucky timing but obviously you can't risk your sale. Have you looked into the costs of hiring a removal company to pack and move? And realistically, are you prepared to move that quickly? Did you sell on the basis there was no chain or that you were happy to move quickly/into rented? As if you didn't, your buyer can't really insist on a quick move as that's unrealistic! Speak to your agent to see what is realistic and whether the buyer has truly stipulated a deadline for moving. Don't panic just yet!

Speaking from experience, do not rush in to buying a house, you will go in with blinkers on in order to go quickly, and things will be missed that could become bigger problems. The guy is going to have to wait until you're ready. And even if you find your dream house tomorrow, who's to say that seller won't need another 8 months. Take the time you need.

As for your boobs, there's never going to be the right time. Unless you can catagorically say you'll be moving within 6-12wks of having them done, personally I'd go ahead with the surgery. It's a big decision, and only one you can make along with your husband. But there are plenty of good quality, value movers out there who will do all the work for you, even pack it if needs be! We wrote each room the box was to go to, and they took it and dumped it there. 2 days later we went to Vegas for Xmas!

I agree with everything the others have said. Don't feel pressured into moving quickly as you'll regret it. Finding the right house takes time and it's a much bigger purchase than your breasts (though not more important ;) )Maybe just say you can't move until (then give a date when you'll feel up to moving) and see what they say?
But if none of that is An option then just take your husband up on his offer to do it. It won't be your fault you can't lift heavy boxes and honestly there'll always be something that gets affected when you've had surgery as it immobilises you fir so long. I say do it x

Hey Twinky!! Sooo bad they wanted to charge you to move the date!! But congrats!!! You've sold you house!! Woohoo!! We moved dec 2013 and our buyers were chain free and wanted to move urgently but we were tied into our mortgage and would have cost us £6k to repay it early so they had to wait.
I would still push ahead with the sale as if you've got a good buyer you need to keep them sweet. You can play their game and "move quickly" and once they've committed financially to searches and surveys a few weeks delay won't be an issue. Whenever we've moved we've packed ourselves and used a man with a van as professional packers are thousands of pounds which is a lot of money on top of moving costs. Get a skip. We did so many tip runs with stuff from the loft. If I didn't know what was in a bag from the loft it went to the tip without me even looking in it as hadn't missed it for the 10 years it had been up there!
Just start having a sort out now bit by bit but don't let of over shadow your boobs. This is your moment hun xx

Glad you're going ahead with your plans, instead of possibly getting a house you don't want just at this moment in time. There isn't a perfect time, there will always be something but it'll be worth it and after its done you'll be happy you just did it then xx
