Swelling and weeping
hi.i am 3 and half weeks po. My right scar is healing well and almost lost all its scabs. But my left is still heavily stabbed. This morning I noticed a swelling around it and for the first time it is weeping. Should I see my gp or just see how it goes. It's more the swelling around it I am concerned about it about size of half an egg.
Thanks x
Thanks x

Re: Swelling and weeping
Hi, I'm sorry to hear this, its always a worry when things don't go to plan. I would call your surgeon in the morning, see what he says. Try not to worry too much, it won't get overly worse overnight. Maybe someone will come along that's had something similar and might be able to advise you better. Just try not to worry x

Re: Swelling and weeping
What colour is it where it's weeping? If it's clear or fresh blood, it's fine. If it's yellow, green, smelly and icky, get straight to your clinic or gp. The scabbing is fine, mine were scanned for weeks. It's just the weeping I'd be concerned about

Do you feel unwell in yourself at all? I would phone the surgeon first thing, even if it's nothing to worry about you need to speak to him xx

Thanks ladies it is right in middle of scar [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it's yellow but not smelly. Feel ok. It red all around it which it hadn't been and that's where swelling is. X

Hmm, if it's yellow and angry, I'd maybe get it checked out, just for sanity's sake. It could be nothing, but if you're worried, see your gp.

Re: Swelling and weeping
The fact you are well in yourself is a good sign I think, my infection didn't show in the scars or any weeping at all, but I felt really unwell and fluey xx

One of my incisions was a little weepy too. I was told to put iodine on it twice a day for a week and it worked WONDERS! xxx
