explant completed
So it all started September 2013 when I had my first breast augmentation with the hospital group, Mr payne. I had wanted breasts for as long as I could remember and searched and searched for who I fekt comfortable with. Mr.payne. I had 375cc over the muscle. I was told I'd be Dd. Possibly E maximum. Recovery was a breeze really and not much pain experienced. Only the dreaded morning boob.
So few months down the line and I felt that were too natural. I was a 32FF. It extremely natural. And I didn't like that. I couldn't afford to get redone so I didn't. I then grew to like them funnily enough..
So here we are. I've had an explant now.
I had to have an explant due to complications, I had a reoccurring seroma which is when fluid builds up around the breast implant and swells. I was 2-3 cup sizes bigger in one breast. It was hard and really painful. Anyway I rang THG that day and told them. They said it was nothing. Ibegged to see someone. A nurse a doctor anyone and they said no we will see you when your surgeon is here in may. This was end of MarcH
So that night I had to ring out of hours doctors who got me an appointment with a senior nurse. She thought maybe infection or rupture. So prescribed antibiotics as a precaution and said see your gp next morning. Which I did and he Examined and immediately see the to Southmead breast specialist clinic as an emergency appointment.
The surgeon took one look at me and said you'll have to hace them removed I think. Or that one even. He drained 3 large syringes around 450 ml out. Told Me to wear tight sports bra and come back in 4 days. Again I had it drained another 450 ml. Went back a week later and there wasn't south to drain.
So I rang THG again and explained what had happened. I threatened court action and said nhs surgeon wanted to write them a letter as their behaviour is disgusting snd negligent. They got me an appointment for 2 weeks time from that call at dolan Park go see my payne. So I seen him.
He felt it and said not too bad. Not too bad?! I was in so much pain it was ridiculous and looked deformed! My breath was filled with fluid. Heavy and dropping. He sind maybe drain 2 More ttimes and we will discuss surgery. Either have one our for 6 months and replace or both our forever.
I went home infuriated. I drove all that way for no answers except for seroma which I already knew. My breast swelled again and I had it drained for a third time. I flipped snd thought this is it now. I rang and went crazy and said.I demand surgery now and I'm not waiting till 21 may to see him to then wait for a surgery date. I want surgery now. I was also angry as if I didn't have op before June 27 I couldn't go on holiday as travel insurance wouldn't Cove rme whilst my boob was like that.
So sure enough they said we can get you in as early as 12th which was just over a week away. And I said fine I would like to see another surgeon to explain procedure in depth though. They called the Wednesday and I had my op the following Tuesday (yesterday )
On the Sunday before I seen mr mayo at THG. He explained every surgeon is different. Some like to wait to out new ones in. Him personally he'd replace on the day. Unsaid I didn't want them in anymore and he seemed shocked that a young girl like me wouldnt want them anymore. He examined me and said I had developed capsular contracture too and that seroma and capsular contracture always come in pairs. He explained the procedure and wished me luck.
So explant day, yesterday. The lead up I was non stop crying. So emotional. I had wasted all that money and would I hate my new boobs. Would they look like deflated balloons? So much anxiety. On the day of surgery I was surprisingly calm.
So I seen the nurse and the anasthetic and then Mr payne. It was now time. He double checked I was sure on removal. I said one hundred percent. I went down and woke up in recovery. They quickly wheeled me to my room where my sister was. I wasn't bandaged so had to buy a sports bra. Macom £28. Surprisingly comfy. I looked down and was pleasantly surprised. No deflated balloons. They are quite full and bigger than my original pre op. I reckon I'll be a large B or even Small C! Bonus. My surgeon says my skin will retract and they'll perk up (not that they're mega saggy, just a tiny droop) they'll also firm up once the skin retracts. You have to think of it as a pregnant belly really!
I'm so glad it's over. Pain was 11/10 at the start until 9pm and it's really eased off now. Just feel like my ribs are bruised really lol.
I'm so happy I explanted and super happy with my results so far. I hace 0 regrets. I'm not anti surgery I just couldn't deal with having them replaced for future compkicayions to occur. I never thought I'd be that girl with complications but there you go. I'm at peace with my decision.now and the wasted money is a life lesson for me.
I'm now post op day 3. Yesterday they already seemed fuller and a little.perkiEr. I thought I'd be a large B or.small c but I tried on a 32e.non padded and it fit!! Must be wrong surely?! Lol.
Any comments appreciated.

Re: explant completed
Thank you for your sharing your journey with me. I had surgery for revision a year after my first surgery. If I developore complications I may seriously consider an ex plant and an uplift. Now that I'm in a happy loving relationship how my breasts look don't seem that important to me anymore and I wouldn't keep risking my health. X
