Tightness and feeling .......alien

just wondering how long everyone's tightness lasted for? I'm 11 days PO and still so very tight, I've been moisturising every night (staying away from incisions of course) but it's not getting any easier. Luckily the morning boob is getting much better - cos man that sucks lol! 

Also wondering when they started to feel like 'yours'? Mine still feel like lumps superglued to my chest - sometimes I feel like I just want to peel them off and have a break from it all for a little while......(sounds a bit drastic but I'm sure ya know what I mean) lol. Mine are still numb from the nipple down to the incisions too which I don't think is helping, but I'm sure that will return to normal as my nipples still 'work' when it's cold and I keep getting the stinging when my nerves are knitting back together.

And the backache...... Oh my poor back ...... Especially after my first day back at work.

I think I'm turning into a moaning old bat haha...... I do love them honestly I do, and I don't regret doing this at all, I just wish it wasn't so damn uncomfortable

The tightness will take a while to pass, its your skin and muscles holding it in tight. They need some time to stretch out and accommodate the implant. Could be a few more weeks I'm afraid! Numbness is a bit of a lucky dip. Nerves can take up to 2 years to grow back, after that you're stuck with what you have. I still have numb patches underneath the nip, sometimes I can feel if its a light tickle or nails, but if its a rub, its a weird numb sensation. Unless I get a miracle in the next 3 weeks, they're done! Hubs has just got feeling back in his leg from knee surgery, and that was 22 months ago. 

As for them feeling alien, it depends really. Once they're stretched and start to soften, they'll start to feel a bit more natural. Its more of a realisation that you haven't noticed them for a few days! I couldn't pin point it for myself, and occasionally I do still get that feeling that they're separate from me (left mostly) but that's on particularly bad days, or if I'm lying flat. It'll come, you just have to be patient!

Have you tried hot/cold packs on your back? Maybe ask other half to give you a light back rub? sitting up of course, not lying on your stomach!

Is this tightness etc because you both had unders.....?.. I am having unders on Thursday and they have warned me that recovery is slightly longer for unders.x

There can be slightly more discomfort with unders because it's stretching the muscle as well as the skin, but recovery is dependent on you, some girls have it hard/easy regardless of placement. I would describe it as tight and heavy, like a weight on your chest, but it does ease up, and it's completely manageable with pain relief. Most girls are down to paracetamol only within the first week. Ice packs across the tops can help relieve it too.

The things that stick in my mind about my recovery were, bad back oh my! Tightness trouble breathing. Sore skin sunburn feeling , itchy. It will go just hang in there ! Sleepless nights but well worth it xxx

I'm totally with you on "when do they feel yours" I'm having those feelings too and I'm just over 2 weeks post op some days I can't touch them as feel so weird...glad I'm not on my home with this xx

Thanks again ladies! I know it's just a waiting game but it's still nice to have a bit of re-assurance, and an idea of how long I can expect it to feel this way.

On the other side of it [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] had unders too and has sailed through it without what seems like a bat of an eyelid, within days she was driving a few hours to visit her mum and travelling to Barcelona for work if I remember correctly, at about 8 weeks she's also dropped and fluffed! So it's all so individual, but don't panic - it is bare-able, just uncomfortable most of the time, and in the grand scheme of things - it's not for long. It will all be worth it Hun. OH has rubbed my back a couple of times for me which was fantastic, but he's working away this week so I'm on my own for now.

As Charli has said there's no set time on when they feel a part of you, just one day you will notice that they don't feel alien anymore & you're less aware of having implants. It's usually as  everything  settles/ heals & all the aches,strange twinges & discomfort has passed. All sensation has returned fully with my left boob but right has less sensation, can't feel gentle touch from nipple downwards & nipple is slower to react to change in temperature but worth the sacrifice for boobs!

I struggled for 3 weeks Hun, morning boob lasted ages for me. It does get easier, I'm nearly 4 months post op and still have days when they go hard again. But a lot of the time they are soft, I also can't feel anything below the nipple. I'm ok with this though. X x

Arww I know the feeling! Mine started to feel less alien-ish from about two weeks but even now when I take my macom off I look at them and think how round and high and pointy they look!! I am actually day dreaming about the day they'll bounce (they still don't move!) and move like real boobs! I think I'll be waiting a while yet!! xx

Haha, I did exactly the same last night, dug out my old bikinis to find one that would fit... the one I have on is a size 10 though as apposed to a cup size.

Funny how we both picked ruffles ;-)

And the ruffling was from the days of trying to make them look bigger, whatever it takes haha!

Aw thanks hun! I am starting to get used to the size now I must admit :-)

Thats exactly why I had purchased the ruffles too.... no more girl... no more!! 

Im desperate to go bikini and bra shopping but trying to hold off.... I keep online shoppin g- putting things in my basket - then emptying it again telling myself off haha!

There is no harm in window shopping...as long as your comfy, and your wallet is in a different room!!

I've just seen this! - I travelled after 6 weeks to Barcelona for 3 days!

I think they started to feel my own after about 4 weeks. They were tight for a long while.. until they dropped really. Still waiting on fluffing... I think that is a long time off.

At the moment you probably still feel the pressure of them against you, I think this starts to improve as the weeks go on. Now I can wear tight things and they just feel normal and like they have been there much longer!

I walked quite hunched and was slow to move around for a couple of weeks, was weird when I could stand up straight, I thought they might pop out lol xx

Oh it seems like I'm going through pretty much the same as you then Hun - must just be moaning about it a lot mornethan you did haha. I seem to remember your recovery happening so quickly - I didn't realise it was 6 weeks till you went to Barcelona, I thought it was about week 3 or 4 lol.

Anyway - your still my recovery hero! Haha!

On the plus side I think I'm starting to turn the corner, I'm still struggling with lefty (I think I may have some fluid in it) but my right is feeling quite good, and starting to soften too - hopefully lefty will start to catch up soon.

Driving like a learner still but at least I can actually drive - there's no way I'd be ready fo a Long journey though - 30 minute drive to York as a passenger and my boobs are like rocks again (damn potholes).
