Finally told my mum!
I was being a total wimp & was teally unsure whether i should tell her but after a good long chat with one of my friends - & the fact i'm living at home at the moment - i came round to telling her about it all.
Her first reaction was "i thought you were going to say you're pregnant!!" So i think it was less of a shock than that & she's been really supportive - even offering to pay off my balance & me just pay her back so i don't have to pay interest on the finance!
It feels like a real weight's been lifted as well. I felt awful bot tellingher but didn't know how to so i just kind of blurted it out in the car this afternoon!x

I'm glad you feel better for telling her and it means so much to have their support doesn't it.
How lovely of her to offer to pay your balance too. Great that you're still at home and your mum will help to look after you I'm sure. Really pleased for you hun xx

I bet that's a relief! I was the same as you, dreaded telling her and just blurted it out randomly! She was really positive and supportive though which was a big surprise! Exciting times for you!

Oh that's great, both my mum and dad were great too but I only told them a couple of weeks before the op.
It's such a relief isn't it, it kinda made it all feel very real to me too once they knew x
Another step closer to your big day!!

Re: Finally told my mum!
I told my mum and sisters and there supportive as they know how long it's bothered me. But I'm really struggling to tell my hubby's parents, how nuts is that. I just know the face his mum is GONA pull lol
But ffs I'm 31, why do I care!?
They would help put with the kids though so it seems silly not to tell them. However, i don't want my kids to know and they seem to have such big gobs....lol
But, we shall see! I still undecided. ...

Twinky I still haven't told my in laws! I love them but just didn't feel comfortable telling them. Sometimes I wish I had told them as I have to occasioanally watch what I wear. But now i think it's too late to say something as they'd probably be disappointed I didn't feel comfortable enough to say something sooner!

Re: Finally told my mum!
It's a tough one isn't it mama Mia. We go on holiday with them 2 weeks before the ops I'm defo not telling them before the holidays, or I know I will feel uncomfortable in front of them in my swimsuit.
So maybe will tell them afterwards. It's the blabbing to others ....

Re: Finally told my mum!
I feel SO much better for it! It seems ridicuolous that i'm 26 & was scared of telling her but she was so unshocked & just wanted to know info as soon as i told her that i feel stupid for having been so nervous about it. She's coming to my 7day post op appointment & stuff like that now as well.
I felt a bit bad because my op's while they're on holiday so she said she'll be worrying the while time but i said either me or my friend that's coming with'll let her know how it's all going x

Re: Finally told my mum!
Awww I bet it feels so much better now.
I did a similar post about telling parents, my mum knew about 5-6 weeks before but I told me dad about 10 days before! - I was worried what he would say.
I didn't want to not tell them I was having an operation and them to think I had lied to them! Could not believe how supportive they were.. I send my mum pictures and we talk about them as if I've had them years! xx

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] it was such a relief! She's been great as well! So real now! I'm counting down (oddly) in gym sessions...5 to go!!
Yeah, went back to the surgeon & chatted about everything again & decided on 325cc (possibly 325 in one & 300 in the other - he'll decide on the day) i can't belive it's less than 2 weeks away x

Re: Finally told my mum!
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] i think it's because i know how much i'll miss it so been trying to go as much as possible around work! This week seems to be dragging a little but i think it's a combination of wanting my op to come round & being a bit quieter at work. Need to properly sort my op day list!xx
