I'm day two post op and experiencing some pretty awful bloating! I don't know if it's the GA or the antibiotics or both but my stomach has ballooned :-( haven't been able to go to the loo so taken two Senokot today which I don't think did anything?! 

I don't know where I feel more sore and tender... My flipping boobs or flipping tummy!! Just literally looked down and my tummy actually looks lumpy in places! Showed my mum and she just thinks it's (embarrassing) constipation! 

Argh I just feel so crappy :-( !!

Aww blush....the constipation was the most painful bit for me, it's terrible. I was literally shoveling dried apricots into my mouth (in between shouting at my mum to get prune juice) as I had read that they might help. Just drink lots of water and peppermint tea, eat healthily, try and go for little strolls and you will soon be able to go to the loo, and feel much better afterwards. 

Promise!!

I've read this happens to a lot if women post op. Dulcolax should help as its stronger than senokot. You'll feel better once it's gone. Good luck hun

I was literally just reading about bloated tummy after BA earlier. Actually think that's the part im dreading the most and I know it sounds silly and shallow amongst the bigger picture, but I'm dreading it. Nothing worse for me, than feeling bloated and constipated .. Ha ! I'm so hoping it quickly passes and hopefully does for you too xx

Ah, I remember this well, I lie rally looked six months pregnant overnight!! My other half couldn't believe it , he thought it was hilarious and my surgeon had done a 3 for 2 deal and put an implant in my tum too Hysterical
I was probly bloated for the best part of two weeks and then went back to my normal pot-bellied look  Hysterical

The bloating and constipation was awful! I didn't go until day 3 and that was after taking dulcolax.  I'd been eating apricots,  prunes and drinking so much water but that didn't do much. I think it's the g.a. that does it.

Ahhh try and relax and don't worry because it's not forever. Try and come of codeine if they have given you that. Just paracetamol . Drink plenty of water and eat super healthy. Do some walking around the house. It happens to most of us and it's not nice. But it will go. I had it for 2 weeks. But it's well worth the boobs xxxxx

GA and Painkillers is what's doing it. stuffs you up and bloats you. If you havent gone by day 3, try and spoon of lactulose. Its over the counter, and works a treat. As for the bloating, that takes a while longer to go down. Peppermint tea is supposed to help if you can stomach it. Plenty of water, fruit and veg, white protein, short walks. Also, try and stand as straight as you can. Don push it, but the natural stance is to hunch, which exacerbates the buddha belly.

Thanks lovely ladies. You are all so kind! 

I've managed to 'go' lol but it's the general Buddha belly/belly soreness that's getting me. I went on a longish dog walk today with parents and felt better for the fresh ark and walking! It's funny you say that Charlli as I do feel I'm hunching forward a bit but don't know if it's the shock of having weight on my chest! 

Good news is feeling a little more myself each day. Soreness/pain/sickness comes and goes but each day getting easier. Counting down the days till my one week follow up now so I can get a proper look at my boobs!!

A called it my 'fragile look' because I was hunched over for about a week. It felt so stretched to stand up straight at the start x

Day 6 and I've still got the Buddha belly! I've been eating really well and gone on quite a few long gentle walks but it's still there lol. I'm used to having a flat tum so it's the most bizzare feeling! Just been in ghetto shower and actually found myself rubbing it like a pregnant woman or something!! Lollllll!

Anyone else who experienced this, when did you find it started to go down? 

With my hairy legs, armpits, Macom and buddah belly I am feeling a picture of beauty today... NOT!

Yup, about 2-3wks I'm afraid. You're doing all the right things, so try not to worry to much. At least yours is flat the rest of the time, unlike my pudge!

My tummy was really swollen all round the sides too . I felt hideous. But it just goes. It's normal after a ba or ga. I felt like waynetta off Harry Enfield with my hairy armpits legs etc and to top it off my hair looked rubbish too. Drink plenty of water xxx

Ah yeah thats the worse.. I remember i had key hole surgedy and my belly blew up like a balloon after the GA.. Looked like a buddha belly haha. It will settle just got to give your healing time! Xx

Probably 3 weeks for me. Rest assured you'll be back to normal soon! This is the ugly side effect of surgery!! Not sure if you're constipated but if you are get some lactulose x
